Which radiator holds lower temps (Fluidyne or Koyo)

I wanted to see based on fellow FD owners expiriences, what Radiator holds lower temps. If any diff at all. Also is it worth pulling out the Thermostat. On my motor. we run a running temprature of about 180 driving and 200 with the ac on. on a Hot South florida day i run at 190 and about 210, 215 with the AC. What is the factory temprature on a stock FD

1. Neither radiator will show a difference in street driving. It's debatable whether there would be a difference in track driving.

2. Removing the t-stat is a bad idea. Some of the guys perforate theirs for track use in the summer and then put a non-perforated t-stat back in for the cooler months.

3. Your temps are just fine and completely normal. The stock ecu doesn't even turn the fans on until 221F.

The Koyo has a slightly larger capacity. Both are good products, and will be more reliable than the stock radiator. Both will offer similar performance.

Your radiator will make no difference in your temps. its there for reliablity reasons. To get rid of the plastic end tanks.

Well, a Koyo certainly made a huge difference to MY temps... Sitting in traffic it takes MUCH longer to start getting warm, cools down as soon as I start moving again, and never gets over about 96degrees.. earlier I often had the fans come on in traffic, which meant 105..

On the track I was seeing 110 degrees after about 3 quick laps - now the highest I've seen is 106 after 10 laps!

Your cooling system much have been working exceptionally well before you changed radiators for you not to see a difference...

PS - we use Celsius down here

Well, that makes three people who have voted for the Koyo -- I would be willing to bet that none of them have used both radiators and probably none of them have ever been to the track -- the ONLY place a larger radiator is going to make a difference....

there is most likely going to be very little difference between the two unless you race the car... I can say from experience that my temps with the koyo never (ever) go above 90 deg C on the hottest days in philly. If that's what you want, then I recomend the koyo. I don't know anything about fluidyne, but the guys at rx7trix (where I got my koyo from) told me that the fins are better (more efficient) on the fluidyne than the koyo... I have no idea if its true or not as I have never seen the two side by side.

i have a fluidyne on my FC

and will prolly get a koyo for my FD for cost reasons.

fluidyne was over kill as i can't even get up to stock temps with a oem thermostat and freezes me in winter.

i'm just say'n the fluidyne are very quality unit too...... since this section (3rd gen) are usually koyo ppl.

They both work well and they Both hold temps down.

There is no direct answer to your question. They both work and are much better then stock.
