Who drives there car in the Hot Summer days
Just wanting to know if you guys drive your FD in the Summer regularly, and at what weather temps do you decide not to drive it. Recently the weather temps have been hitting close to a 100 degrees now, here in central Washington state. A few days back when it was a little over 90 degrees, I was city driving the car for about a half hour for testing purposes, and it would stay at a constant 190F on my temperature gauge. So with the new increase in temperatures, I was considering just driving it in the mornings or evenings. Or on cooler temperature days.

my car is a garage queen
I NEVER drive it it hot, humid, sunny conditions....quite frankly it always feels like a complete dog and that takes the fun out of it
those 40 degree evenings in late October make it all worthwhile....at least some guy in a pristine yellow Z06 rolls by in 90 degree weather with the top down, relatively unaffected by "heat soak" and other forced induction bs maladies, punches the throttle, and the deep rumble of a V8 echoes off the guard rail, bringing a nostalgic tear to my eye of days gone by, and happier times with my '69 Camaro big block
ok, maybe I'm just a sentimental old fart, but sometimes the little turbo "lawnmower on crack" gets irritating....

I drive mine all the time. I drive it to and from work.
This past weekend I took her on a road trip of sorts from Houston to Brehnem and then to College Station before coming back.
Probably taking her to Austin within the next few weeks.
Bullet proof your coolant system and you won't have a problem with it.

I drive mine only in the summer. Up here in the Northwest it rains too much (makes the FD a real interesting car to drive ;-) of the year not to drive in the summer months. Although our temps only hit the mid 90's (as a typical high), but mostly we stay in the 80 degree range throughout the summer.

As others have said, this is a car, it's meant to be driven.
I have daily driven my FD for over 2-1/2 years, in any weather conditions from upper 30s with rain to a sunny 100 degree day. The only problem in the heat is the a/c doesn't keep up (95s switched to R-134).

if i dont have to, nah i wont..i always check the weather daily to see what the weather is like.. if its raining that day, i wont take the car out, if its ike 95+, i wont take the car out. since my job is only 2 miles away, i can take the bus which is one dollar and it drops me off 50 feet away so im cool with that. if i have to go out, which is normally at night, its ok cause the temp would've dropped and i can live with that.
i did have an incident once where it was like 93 degrees but it was humid as all hell and i wanted to turn the a/c on..(knowing me, i dont want to use a/c in my fd due to temp reasons and im paranoid) so i put my a/c relay back in so i can use the a/c, found out that it kept on blowing warm air. i kept it running for a while cause the a/c hasnt been used for i dont know how long, maybe a year or more and still nothing. i hope it just needs to be recharged. im gonna go to autozone and get that do it yourself r-12 recharge kit and see whats up..

Yep what he said. Not properly cooling down your car is the worst thing you could do especially in hot weather.

Constant threat
I don't like driving mine in the HOT, hot weather. If it gets above 88 or so, mine stays in the garage. As others have said, the heat soak issues and the total drain of power just takes a lot of the fun away.
No, the FD is best when it is about 40 - 60 degrees out, fall is the ultimate FD play-weather season.
Not saying you CAN'T drive it with it really hot out, I've driven mine many times on 100+ degree days and it did okay, no overheating or anything like that.
Just no power, comparitively speaking.
