Radiator fan staying on

Hi guys I just turned my car off after a drive and one of the cooling fans is staying on. It only turns off when i disconnect the battery and comes back on when i reconnect it.
Any idea what the problem might be? Has a relay died?

Thanks guys

So not both fans, but ONE fan?

The fans always run in parallel - what one does the other does too. If only one is running either you have one fan that's dead or something's jacked with the wiring on the one that keeps running.

I found out one of the relays had water in it which was the problem.
Do we need to use the same model relay or are there replacements available?

Ideally you want to use the same part number relay that you took out. Most parts store relays are very cheap and do not hold up. The fans pull quite a few amps so you want a heavy duty relay like the original.

It would be a shame if you bought a cheap relay and it failed causing your car to overheat.
