Radiator Coolant Leak Need advise!!

After running the car the coolant system sounds like it is going to blow up. I can hear the coolant bubbling and I dont know why? I think I have a small leak in my overflow tank, but is that the problem? I also though I might have too much air in the system... I burped it but I still get the gurggling sound. Any suggestions? Where can I get a new overflow tank cheap? I also see that my seperation tank has a little line of green coolant around it but no leak?

What should I do next?

How do you get the overflow tank out?

That little line of green coolant is exactly what I saw....just take it as a warning sign to get a new one...and soon . Also how are you burping the system?

I got my koyo for $370 give or take a little and I am VERY* happy with it.

koyo and fluidyne are pretty popular for good reason.

EDIT: plus it will keep your engine much cooler than the stock rad

I had this problem before and I took advantage and purchased an aluminum ast. My problem happened to be my old ast cap. I bought 2 brand new 13 lbs caps and along with the new ast and the problem was gone. I am also very happy with my koyo, excellent radiator for the price.

Go to a radiator & A/C shop that specializes in testing and repairing radiator. You can find a local one in the phone book. Have them test your system and they can tell you if the water tank on the radiator is bad. If it is, then can replace and clean the core. I would also do a full coolant system flush as well. If you can wait and afford and aluminam one, that's a better option. You should replace the AST as well. Sounds like it's about to burst. Oh, remove the radiator cap (cold engine) and start the car. Check for champagne size bubbles. If the bubbles never go away, then bad O-Ring coolant seals.

It's supposed to remove bubbles (air) from the coolant system. I decided to replace mine with an aluminum one. As for the radiator, you can go with a Koyo. It's cheap, and works very well. Some people have minor fitment issues, but I didn't have any.

I'm in the same boat!! Mine spits and bubbles for like 10-20 min. after I shut it down. Is the AST the black plastic thing with a rad cap near the front of the engine bay?? Where do you buy an aluminum ast from?

the overflow tanks has a hole in it naturally,
it will overflow what the system doesn't need, but if it keeps doing so, you have real problems. You should replace the AST if you can afford it. Also burping theses systems takes a while

Theres a koyo radiator on ebay for sale, I believe it goes for $340 shipped. Its brand new. Koyo has a bigger capacity than Fluidyne, but I think the Fluidyne is better crafted.

overflowing is caused by the pressurized coolant system due to the o-ring failure. claimed mine back in 2k1...still on the schedule for rebuild. i had to add coolant to it every morning before going to work and add coolant when i got off of work. then add more when i got out of school to go home.

repeated process until it didn't start one morning.
