racing beat exhaust install?
FWIW, unless your pipe-gasket and pipe bolts/nuts are in good shape, I would have a new gasket and replacement bolts/studs and nuts handy.
Don't over-tighten the gasket and use high-temp (nickle-based) anti-seize on the bolts/studs.

its very easy. i just installed the racing beat single tip. the hangers are the only tricky part. just be patient and start with the hanger in the rear and move twards the main cat. took me around 30min
u dont need a torque wrench, just make sure everything is snugged up nicely and u'll be fine.
i recomend u use some penetrating oil on the mid pipe studs (if it is stock) they see extreme heat and even if they appear to be loosening off they can still seize. use a socket and breaker bar on them and go easy (no air tools). working the nut back and forth if necessary.

the stock exhaust was installed with lock tight nuts. some were hard for me to remove, others were not so difficult. just use a ratchet and 2 wrenches for the tight ones.
i re-installed the old nuts. bad idea! get new bolts and nuts. you'll be glad you did. if i remember right...the nuts were 12mm

Has anybody here ever installed a NEW RB cat back?Mine came with Instructions,new gaskets and hardware.The only thing you might have to buy are nuts for the rear flange of the catalytic converter(depending on condition)
i took the exhaust off my fc a few days ago and it was the easiest exhaust i have ever seen. it was 2 bolts from the headers and the rest was hangers. i borke the bolts free with a breaker bar and then unscrewed them by hand. adn i would get new bolts and hangers
I got my new Dual Tip about 4 years ago. Simple install. Pretty much just bolted right up.
If its a single tip not sure about the install but pretty sure its a DIY if you can turn a wrench.

Did the dual tip and it was very easy, getting the old exhaust off is the hardest part, use plenty of Liquid Wrench or something similar on the nuts for a few days before you start. After that the hardest part is dealing with the hangers, squirt some Silicone lubricant or even Simple Green on them and it's pretty easy.
haha.. why are these things so hard to find - especially since it is supposed to be such a great product. i looked for a used one for months before i finally caved in and bought one new. not to mention only two retailers selling it online.

I believe (based loosely on comments from Brian Compton of Racing Beat 2004) they only produced a said amount which is whey they eventually stopped selling them.
The retailers that still have them must have bought up a bunch back then and still have a few in stock or you can still get one second hand.

I was also lucky enough to get the last made Type II wing.
As I did not post back then cause was not into the site much, here were Brian Comptons comments (2004s actually email) with the story about the discontinued Type II:

"I just spoke with my purchaser so I will explain the situation while it is fresh in my head. The company that produces the Type II rear wing for us was bought out by another company. They have not been producing fiberglass for some period of time but have finally began production once again. They are going down their back order list and producing parts. We give them a call every couple weeks and ask them the status on our wings. Basically they'll get to us when they get to us, I have no ETA. It could be 2 weeks it could be 6 months, I don't know. For all of our other fiberglass parts we have switched over to another company called Prototype Concepts (they make Kaminari, maybe you've heard of them) and we don't have these problems. The Type II wing is the only fiberglass part that we're waiting on. That's the story David, you can tell everyone on the internet."
