maybe the oil coolers were added as an aftermarket reliability mod.

R2s I believe came with a strut brace, cloth "suede-like" seats, no cruise control, and was only available with a manual transmission. You probably have a PEP or base model with some options added.

R1-93
R2-94/95

They are both the same, the 94/95 models were just labled as the R2 package. Only difference being R2s had a softened up suspension.

you have two cooler because most likely if you look close one is for cooling tranny fluid. I cant remember if the autos came stock like this, but alot of people have it.

Definetly not R2.

It's stock. One is transmission and one is oil.

It's a base model. PEP's came with a sunroof and cruise control.

Yep, base model automatic. The passenger side cooler is for the auto tranny.

You have a base model. Either leather was added as an option or a previous owner upgraded the seats. A 95 PEP came with sunroof, leather, fog lights, cruise, but no Bose (or even CD for that matter....).

For a dedicated track/race car yes, for a street car no. If you want to add dual oil coolers, Crooked Willow Racing and Rotary Extreme have kits for non-R1/R2 FDs.

Mine is a PEP model and does NOT have a CD player. I've just got the old tape deck and storage bin.

Perhaps they changed it during the year or you got a free option....

Both the '95 PEP I test drove and the '95 PEP I bought (both MBM) had CD players, and they'd both just come in from Japan. This was April of '97, long after dealers would have been carrying any "option" components and upgrading cars before sale. However, both had aluminum sill plates which was a dealer option, I believe.

I'd have to dig up my '95 brochure and see if the CD player was listed as optional for the PEP. Anyone else have one handy?

I'll trade you mine. I'd rather have the increased headroom and eliminate the potential for leaking.
