Take the plugs out, push the gaspedal all the way down and try and crank the car. Be sure you've got the gas pedal all the way down!

No, But I'm not sure if the pedal to the metal trick works on auto's or not. I think you have you remove your EGI fuse to prevent cranking.

That's what I usually do plus clean my plugs ghetto way. Spray plugs with carb cleaner, wipe it, then blow dry it. Put it back in and it start up in a few cranks.

I was in the same situation 2 months ago. It ended up being the MAP sensor vacuum hose. Give that a check.

happened the first week i got my fd, it was a bit cold that day, prob around 40 and i started the car, i had to move the car right away cause the oil people for my house came for delivery and so i tried to rush and i stalled.. the car only ran for like 20 seconds prior to that stall and i tried to crank it again, it didnt want so i had to push with one foot out and myself halfway in the car trying to move the car out of the way..

about an hour later, i removed the plugs and it was gassed up, not that much but enough to prob cause the car not to start, i did the unflooding procedure and voila, one try and it started..

i think since the car runs rich at startup could be the cause of why you cant run the car short, then shut it off..

Okay, i tried to start my car again now and having the same trouble starting up again. Could it still be flooded. i didnt remove the plugs and clean them off when i unflooded my car. could this be the issue?

How would i know if the battery is weak? (besides taking it to the shop and having them measure it)

It cranks but it doesnt start up

get a dmm (digital mulitmeter) and test the batter first when the car is off, should read 12.6 volts, thats normal..if you dont want to spend for the meter, take out your battery and bring it to like pep boys or something and have them test it and charge it if it needs it..

I had similiar experiences, what worked for me is taking all 4 plugs out, egi fuse and relay just in case. And crank it over to spew out the fuel 15 seconds each for 3 times. Then just really wiped the plugs off and let them dry. Once you get the car started let it idle most of the fuel out and I had mine on at least 5 minutes around 3k rpms, just too make sure most of the fuel had gotten out of the system. But I still think my plugs are fouled out as another member had suggested, since it still kinda rough to start.

My friends ghetto to he would recommend torching the butt of the plugs with a lighter, I don't know how good of an idea that is .
