Quick "Intake" Question (Searched)
I've just installed my intake kit (Fighters Garage) and i found myself looking at a hose that I have very little idea on what it is and what to do about it.
Installed both intakes, have both BoV open to the air (with small K&N filters), removed the Air-Pump and removed the hose that goes all the way back to the cat...... and there's a hose that comes from behind the intake manifold all the way to the front!
wtf is this? Looks like a re-breather for the manifold... is it?
Whats the best way to "deal" with it? I've seen pictures of it (i think) just hooked up to the firewall and aparently just venting out..... my intake dosen't have a connection for it so.... im a little lost atm..
Thanks.

why would u fry the main cat? Backfire?
Other cars dont usually (cant recall 1 actually) that needs a air pump to work with the main cat.
quote from fd3s:
"The air pump is only used for smog purposes, and will not hurt your car if it is disabled or removed. Some claim a lumpy or hunting idle when it's disconnected, but may others have no problem. I have been told that removal of the air pump will result in the early demise of your catalytic converter. I highly doubt that though, as above 3000RPM the air pump is not being used."
air pump removal takes 15min. easy stuff, if u have the tools and a pulley kit&belt

The rotary engine is a little less efficient than most engines when it comes to emissions. This is why so many people have a hard time passing smog tests even when the car is relatively stock. The airpump is there to assist in burning off emissions. The thought is that without the additional O2 from the airpump, less emissions will get burnt off and settle into the catalytic converter. Thus eventually causing it to clog.
Now, I have not witnessed a catalytic converter failure/clog to do an airpump being removed. That's not to say it cannot happen, but I haven't witnessed it yet.
I will say that your car will smell as if you have a midpipe without the airpump as all the extra emissions will not be burnt off.
