Arrow Quick HF Cat question.

I am looking at buying a Bonez high flow cat today and was wondering if you think I would have any fitament issues with my downpipe and PFS exhaust.

If you don't know about this setup specifically, do you know if anyone has had problems fitting the rx7.com Bonez cat to anything????

Appreciate the help!

No problems here, but I got the whole kit (Bonez DP and Hi-Flo).

Same here

Just finished the install with the Bonz, no problems with it, couple of weeks. Significantly lower heat with the full setup.

Be very careful with the Bonz DP, took some grinding and more then a couple of hours to get the darn thing to fit. Bolt holes were not rounded off correctly, bend was too close to the flange and couldn't get the bottom stud in without cutting the top off.

Hope you have small hands, get some mechanic gloves, your knuckles will thank you after you get done. All the little heat shields are a bitch, WD-40 overnight helps quite a bit.

When you take out the stock crud, you will know what I am talking about, siginificantly less heat and weight (especially if you have a pre-cat still).

Well I went and bought the bonez anyway for $300 (used for 1700 miles).

Installation was simple. I don't get where the challenge was. I have a pfs exhaust and a dp.

First impressions.

- easily weighs 25% of the original.

- good quality build. Great would've been a lip on the air pump plug to ensure it never comes off unless I chose to remove.

- sound - slightly deeper, louder, and "throatier" or raspier. Not necessarily unpleasant. When you get on it, there is more of the weed wacker sound than the stock cat.

- performance - believe it is easily worth 10 rwhp. I don't floor it for fear of overboost. I currently have a modified intake w/ k&N, dp, cat back, and now the high flow cat. (next mod is a power fc) - boost comes on much more quickly. As far as any low end drop, I only think the very low 1-1750 rpms may suffer a bit as I did bog for a sec which I haven't done with the stocker. Over that I don't think it has any down side that the extra breathing doesn't overpower.

Once I get the pfc & intercooler I think I will be quite happy with the power. Then I can move on to some of the cheap mods such as larger injectors and a bigger fuel pump.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions.

thanks.

Thanks for the info in the install. I've got a Bonez HF Cat, a RB Cat back, and a Pettit DP to install, so it's nice to hear that things seem to fit well. I ordered all this stuff at the same time as a PFC, datalogit, and a WB. I figured it would be safer to install the PFC first, then move on to the mods. The PFC is in, and running well, but I'm still waiting for the Datalogit and WB. It kills me not to go ahead and install the mods, but I'm trying to resist.

Again thanks,

Probably a good idea. I haven't gone past 3/4 throttle max as I am concerned about problems before I get a pfc. You may need new gaskets, which I may get as I think a thicker gasket may perfect the fit.

I installed mine before the pfc from a timing issue, but I definitely want it on when I take it in for tuning.
