Quick help for BOV

So I was driving around and my BOV isn't working anymore. I check under the hood and notice the hose going into the BOV came off? I have an HKS bov, anyone know where the hose is supposed to go? It's hard to get to (under the intakes) so I'm trying to see if there is a way to squeez my hand in there without removing anything.

Also, is there any damage running without a BOV?

Found where the hose goes. Need to wait for motor to cool down, definately too hot to stick my hand in there lol.

But question still stands, whats the affects of running without a BOV?

Running without a BOV will cause serious compressor surge and end up ruining your turbos. It's a vital part of the turbo system.

If you ran like that for a little bit then I doubt you caused any harm. BTW, a blowoff valve can be connected anywhere that has boost/vacuum. Just run a hose to it and connect it anywhere on the intake manifold

Wtf? My hose for the BOV came off again. The hose is fine, its the nossel that is coming off. The nozzle is stuck in the hose so the nozzle comes off with the hose. If this keeps happening while I'm driving should I just stay out of boost until I reconnect it to prevent any damage to the turbos?

Going to reconnect it again when the engine cools, I don't know why it keeps coming out.

That's definately something you want to sort out before you start getting into serious boost. The BOV takes the pressure and blows it away from the compressor. If the BOV isn't venting the pressure, it will end up "surging", which has been covered alot in the forum. Do a quick search for compressor surge if you want more info.

This would only be true if his BOV was stuck closed. I think his actual pressure piping came off, so he would just have a huge boost leak. Nothing serious can come from that.

It's the hose and nozzel that goes into the back of the BOV. It's not the big one, but the smaller hose. The hose is connected to the nozzel, but for some reason the nozzel isn't staying into the BOV for some reason. I need to take off everything so I can really try and push it in there. If I can't get it to stay, should I just not drive my car? I was going to go to the beach with my friends today but I don't want to damage anything.

Okay, now I think my BOV is broken. Basically, I took the nozzle out of the hose and put it in the BOV and lightly tapped it in with a hammer so it would stick. Put the hose back on, reconnected my intake pipe and tightened everything. Went for a ride and did a run. Boost came quick so I thought it was fixed and then my boost dropped and the BOV isn't releasing the air, well I don't know what it's doing, it's making a "waffle" sound instead of a high pitched sound that it should be making. I thought the hose came off again but it was still in there and everything. Is my BOV broken or what could be wrong?

Here are some pictures I took real quick

Hopefully driving around like this is fine until I buy a new BOV or get it fixed. It's not the main line coming from the turbo. I should be fine right? I just am not going to be getting full boost/holding boost?

Do you still have the factory BOV on hand? Try sticking that in.

not necessarily, its a little different on a sequential setup. you cant just hook it up anywhere.

Don't have stock BOV, bought the car with this on it already.

First question I'd like answered is just is it safe to be driving the car around like this, not going into boost or pushing the car hard.

Second is, whats with the BOV, is it broken or is there anything I could of hit to change it? Arn't BOV adjustable or something? Maybe I adjusted something accidently?

I really need to know what I need to do to try and fix this. I don't want to do any kind of damage to my turbos/car and I won't to know if I need to buy a new BOV or what other things to check. I'd like to get this fixed by tomorrow!

I didnt have time to read whats wrong with it...but if its not making noise....check to see if all your pipping is connected. I sent my BOV to HKS to "fix" they sent it back and it still was nto working. Then i noticed my intercooler pipping came off. Right when i connected the IC piping back on, the BOV started workign again. SO check to see if any piping came off.

I doubt it's any kind of piping, I've checked everything really, tightened some things, and it all started with the flutter sound, I stopped hearing the high pitch noise, checked under the hood and the hose/nozzel were disconnected from the BOV. I would try to connect it, and it would work again, but it kept coming out. So then I finally connected it good today and the nozzel/hose is in and isn't coming out, but I still just get the fluttering sound, so now I'm clueless.

Came to the conclusion that my BOV is broken. Friend has a stock BOV laying around so I'm going to hook that up and run on stock until I get another HKS or try to fix the nozzle.

when you hammered the nipple in, you punctured a hole into the diaphragm.

if youre gonna sell the bov instead of changing the diphragm.. let me know how much you want for it.
