quick and easy oil change?

Has anyone ever used one of those oil change pumps that remove oil from the pan via the dipstick guide? This method is used by boat owners because they cannot get to the oil pan drain plug because it is inaccessable on inboard mounted engines. I'd change the oil once a week if it was that easy

Changing the oil on the 7 is easier then any car I know of. The filter is on top, there's no mess. The only way it can be any easier is if you had one of those quick drain plugs that has a lever instead of screwing it out and in.

I kind of like that idea. I've heard of it long ago but kind of set the idea aside. Do you have a link?
The only drawback I see is that any particulate matter in the pan or on the drain bolt (you got a magnetic drain bolt, right?) would remain.
Other than that, if you change your oil every 1500 to 2500 miles, like the most **** of us, this might still be worth looking into.
Of course, I'm buying a lift next month so I guess it doesn't really matter. Why couldn't you have posted this a year ago

just buy some ramps and roll your car on to them and then change out the oil.

I've got the ramps, plus the ramps I need to get the car on the ramps. I also have the salve to sooth the burns (I could go on) Take a look at Pelaproducts.com

Take a look at this link, works great and you can change brake fluid and bleed or suck up coolant. I used it to suck gas off the engine when my fuel pulsation dampener died.

Changing the oil isn't too tough anyway. The only hard part is getting the used oil back in the damn bottles without spilling all over the friggen driveway (again!) I'm too cheap to splurge for the $3.00 drain pan with the valve on the bottom to drain and stop the flow of the oil, so I just spill it everywhere.

Ramps don't work on R1's, unless they're 6' long tapered type.

I got mine from Victoria British.
Their web site doesn't list very much, so it's not there, but you could just call them and ask about it.
Their number is 800-255-0088.

I had a set of ramps with ramp extensions. The ramps are the yellow steel ones you find at most parts stores (I think I got those from Autozone). The extensions are red and black plastic, and extend the ramp out. I got a lowered R1 up on ramps before with NO problems - the lip BARELY touched the ramps at one point, but that was it.
