Quick downpipe question~~

I just bought a used dp, it only come with a used gasket between the turbo and dp.
So do I need a new gasket between the dp and the main cat???
Also the gasket between the turbo and dp seems to broke?? The corners of the gasket is splitted into 4 layers..(I know my description is bad, just use immagination)

Thx

I think you could reuse the turbo-to-dp gasket if the only thing that's wrong with it is that it's spilt into 4 layers.

I always use a new gasket between the downpipe and midpipe.

My advice is replace both gaskets while you are in there. Unless you are just strapped for cash.

Ofcourse Rated R1 is right, you SHOULD replace both gaskets! Then you won't have to worry about it.
The turbo-to-dp gasket is like $38 I think..

I just used the original gasket when I installed mine and I have had no problems with it.

I believe that the gasket from the turbo and the dp is like over 45 dollars, because they are made of metal.

Those gaskets are hard to even tear, I have no idea what you mean by it being splitted. If you look at it, does it look like when you bolt the dp back to the turbo, that any heat will leak out? If it looks like it is going to leak, better bust out that $45+ and get it changed. The gaskets from dp to mp and mp to catback is like $5 to $6 dollars a piece and those need to be changed if your changing your exhaust system. Those gaskets are more vunerable to damage. Hope this helps.

It is made in layers ,thin steel sheets. The new style lower intake manifold is also. Many small Honda motorcycle head gaskets are made that way.

get new gaskets to prevent any possible chance of an exhaust leak. you saved money buying the dp used to spend that extra cash on some new gaskets.

i reused my gaskets without problem. it's metal and should be reusable unless it's in bad shape. in your case, i would just get new ones since it's already split.
