Questions on the RX7

Hey, Im sure you guys have all seen these same questions about 1 million times before and Im sorry to post it again, But Im trying to decide on a car and its pretty muchly between the 3rd gen RX7 TT or a 4th gen Supra TT. Ive heard from alot of people that the RX7's engine isnt very reliable and has lots of problems..What kind of problems does it have? and will it be easy to fix..and can i prevent it all? and if so..How? Any other info on the rotary engine would be good too..since ive never owned one. I posted on rx7city.com but didnt get any good answers..I guess cause its a smaller forum. I really do like the RX7..Oh one more question..Im looking to buy a TT for around 15 - 18 thousand. Maybe 20, But I dont know. The question is..What kind of mileage should i look for in that price range..and How many miles is the RX7's engine good for. Also, I heard about a three rotor engine for the RX7 that produces 900horsepower???? Info on that would be greatly appreciated too. Thanks - -

I'm 99.9% certain that Mahjik has that post response sitting in this cut-and-paste clipboard so he can put it..I never see any deviation..

Though the "search" response seems to be a little curt, it truely is the best thing as you will run through a wealth of information about the things that you are asking about.

The engines do get taxed immensely and usually will require a rebuild or something to the effect once it reaches around the 75k, 80k mark on the stock engine..much sooner on a highly modified engine if not tuned properly and taken care of..

As far as the 3rd gen prices are concerned, you can pick up a nice 93 with decent miles and not too many mods for $13-$15k. Lower miles and less mods dictate a higher price..94 and 95's also dictate higher prices, R2 are virtually impossible to find, R1 are also on the higher price range..

Base is the cheapest to get at..if you don't mind living with the BOSE and intend to put a custom stereo system anyways, that might be something to look for..

Anyways..read through those links and read up on the model differences and all that you're questions will be answered..
