Question on selling an FD
Question on selling an FD
Which holds more weight and value when selling an FD in your opinion? A clean almost stock FD with low mileage or a semi modified FD that may or may not have had the **** ran out of it but has some cool mods done to it? I am curious b/c I am debating if it is worth the effort in trying to sell my FD
i guess it really depends on wat kind of buyer u run into, but for me, it definintly had to be in good condition, whether it was stock or modded, wanted one with very very few to none problems with it, no matter how small the problem is.
then others of course will say it depends on how tasteful the mods are if it is heavily modded, and usually lower mileage sells better since it was driven less in general

The car has only a few mods and runs great, just trying to get an idea has really good mods and only added 3k miles on it since I purchased and any other time it sits the garage and is started at least once a week
Yea the guy had all that done right before I purchased and I was very pleased with that. I would go as far as saying that the reliablity mods are the reason the car runs so good still
I would not sell it in this market right now...wait a year or two once things turn around.
My opinion what people like to see
cold a/c
Powersteering
bigger radiator
larger intercooler
silicone hoses
interiors and exteriors should be in good shape
few gauges (boost, oil pressure)
PFC?
when people start adding wings, body kits, headlight conversions,...you are more than likely to have less interest.......but it all depends how its done and who comes across it.

I think many people have trouble selling FDs in any market because of unrealistic price expectations. Unless it has very low miles, blue book is about right - though many do not want to believe this. So, to answer the OP's original question, the selling effort is going to be related to how realistically you price the car.

I know youre not asking for a price, but I would say anywhere from 12-14k would be reasonabe from what youve described
As for those who say the market is terible, I disagree. The car hasnt decreased in value in 8+ years. I bought my car 5 years ago and getting one in the same shape it was back then (62k, bone stock, mint) would cost about the same if not a little more. Its great having a car with such low production numbers and high demand. I cant think of many other 15 year old cars that are worth $10-15k , if so they probably cost twice what the FD cost in 93-95

i would but the problem is i still owe a little bit on the car! hmm i do got some cas laying around send me some pics if you dont mind reddevil4896@yahoo.com
To me, the ease of reversibility of the mods and the condition of the car are FAR more important than the "coolness" of the mods. Some little ricer turd drilling a bunch of holes and FUBAR-ing the factory paint putting a body kit on it and painting it puke green....that's a problem. Destroying the radiator supports/condenser/AC lines/harnesses to put a FMIC on a car, that's a problem.
Downpipe and an upgraded SMIC, no big deal as long as nothing was cut up to put on the SMIC.
