Question:Intercooler pipe have oil
Question:Intercooler pipe have oil
Today I change my standard air filter and take off the intercooler pipes .First the filter is very dirty and have oil around.and I found the both intercooler pipes inside have oil .so is it normal or will brown my engine soon?and also if it is not normal how can i clean up the pipe inside?
It sounds like you need new turbos. Are you getting puff of white smoke when you let off throttle? how many miles do your turbos have? My turbos started smoking and I had excess oil in pipes at 60k miles, changed the turbos and it stopped.
Good turbos will spit out a small amount of oil and after a long time the pipes will collect oil .Worn turbos will spit out more as can be expected .Clean the pipes by covering the end and putting solvent in the pipe then cover the other end and shaking the pipe . Think about cleaning the innercooler also .

its normal to have some oil in the I/C and pipes a light film. but you should only have a small amount. if you have a lot I would say you have a problem. check your pcv and acv valve's and make sure everything is working right.
