Question about UIM.

I am getting my UIM polished, and I am also removing the AWS. I know I need a block off plate for the thingy behind the trottle body, and the line that went to the intake elbow, but my question is what is the thingy behind the throttle body nearst the fire wall. Does it need to stay installed. I had also removed the double throttle butter flies, do I need to cap off the vacum line that went to the diaghram for the double throttle.

Thanks for any help.

The double throttle control actuator? Is that what you are talking about? Remove it, and the hole that stayes there from removing the double throttle butterflies, you need to find something constructive that will fit in three and prevent a boost leak. I just used JB Weld. It's ugly, but once the UIM is on, you will never see it.

If you are getting the outside of the intake polished, get the inside polished, too.

The little black box with the vacuum line and electrical connector that is attached to the firewall behind and to the right of the TB? Take a close look at it and it should have a sticker on it that says "Boost Sensor" aka the MAP sensor. DO NOT REMOVE IT!

1/4 EARL PIPE PLUG will fit that hole just fine.

Just need to tap it.

No, I know what all that is. It looks just like the aws actuator, it is right below the double throttle actuator.

Are there two things for the aws? Besides the line that goes to the intake elbow?
