I am having a hell of a time getting my car running after a new motor install. The car starts up but it runs like ****. No power, high idle, nonresponsive, very shaky... if nothing else this car would make a great paint shaker. Anyways I am wondering if the car would start and run with a bad primary injector. I took the plugs out and the 1st rotors plugs looked like everything was fine, but the 2nd rotors plugs were suspiciously clean. I am thinking that the injector is not firing. Any thoughts?

 

Try taking it up to 3-4000 rpm and see if things improve. The secondary injectors start firing around that rpm (step on it a bit), and the engine should smooth out quite a bit. The other thing you could try is swapping out the primary and secondary injectors -- if it smooths out, then one of 'em is bad as you thought.

not possible. they are different injectoras, and are not interchangeable.

as long you dont go WOT or take it to high RPMs, you should be fine. but i would recommend you not drive the car for the time being.

 

Ah right -- i'm used to my TII (4x 550's)
Even then, couldn't you try taking it (in neutral or something) to ~4krpm and see if it smooths out some?

 

The car is idling up real high too, would it do that with only 1 injector?
