question about HID lights guys

Okay,

When I had my integra, well before I sold it... I had this HID kit on it, they were philips ballasts w/ hella violet bulbs...

Anyways the quality of the light was amazing, it really was, no comparison.

Im interested in possibly making a purchase on an HID kit for the 7 as the lighting for our cars is about as good as a flashlight strapped to the side of my fender.

Anyways, just checking, does anyone have an HID kit on their car, and if they do what brand did they go with and what kind of success have you had or not had. Also, our bulb is H4 correct??

I'm looking at all these kits on Ebay, just dont know what I want to go with...

any input is great, thanks

Yup, they're H4's. Try searching the interior/exterior forums. It seems someone is showcasing their FD HID setup every other day now.

Now, finding a vendor with the catz kit is another issue...

rotary extreme is an HID kit. i've done some reading about it and people seem think the light quality is very good. of course, it is expensive though. good luck. keep us informed if you do find an alternative to an expensive kit.

I have true HID on my car.

with the ballast and everything.

Install that and remove that Piece of **** Metal cone that is inside the headlight assm. and voila!

U have brighter than Supra lights........ by far.

Also, ur peripheral lighting is incredible. I can turn fast in the night without wondering if there is some hidden danger turn-turn.

Where did you get the E-spec housings and how much were they?

I've contemplated doing something like this.

It's been over a year since I installed them and I have tossed the box and packaging.

I forgot the brand.

I recommend removing that POS metal cone (which probably was designed to restrict stray light from lighting up ur peripheral) on even stock setup.

The true HID is sooooo bright that it puts both of my fog and driving light to shame so bad that I don't even use them other than glorified parking lights.

Next lighting mod will be the PIAA 930 true HID driving lights.

That is the ultimate setup IMHO.

As far as cost, they were $800 brand new back in the day..........

Don't the "E-Spec" Housings angle the beams to the left instead of the right? how noticeable is this? I would imagine oncoming drivers are not happy, but I have never sen them.

what are E spec housing?

European spec?

how is it better than ours?

Glass man, can u take a pic of the lighting pattern and post it?

I'll try to do mines and we can compare.

Also, low and high beam to compare would be nice.

Yep, european spec. These are, however, not DOT legal here.

The lense is different and clearer. Beam pattern should be wider as well.

I have never personally seen the FD E-specs though, just talking from experience from a different car.

Has anyone looked at the headlights some of the motorcycles are using? I have seen some very bright lights on some of the newer bikes during the day. Maybe they are small enough to fit into our housings.

You can them through Corksport. They are glass and have a better beam pattern.
I'll try to get some pictures in a few days.
