Question about auto/manual swap

Ok, I know you can plug a PFC into the auto and the only thing will be effected is the tranny - so why would I need to get a new/rewire the engine harness?

In a swap you're taking away electrical functions, not adding them right?

TIA for input!

ohhhh, dug into my trusty service manual, and it appears that the manual has at least clutch, neutral and a 1-2 (??) switch that goes in the harness....

Need to see how hard to simply rewire....
