Question about Air Temp Sensor location
I did search over and over the fourm, and i cant find it.
I want to know which connector for the temp sensor under the UIM ?
Recently, i was removing solenoid connectors under the UIM, some how i leave it for long time and now i forgot which connector for the air temp sensor. I know the temp connector is black with inner yellow, but i see three are simular.
First one ) it goes together with the Idle control valve and TPS connector loop
Second ) it goes with the fuel themosensor loop
third ) it is in front of the oil fill neck. (i m 100% sure it is not)
thx

There should only be one connector that will plug in - the connectors are typically keyed so you can't plug the connector into the wrong sensor.
That said, I believe the shell of the connector is blue.

I understand it cant plug the wrong connector to sensor, but i see two connectors are simular in that area.
One from TPS loom (which close to the firewall)
One from Fuel themosensor loom ( on top of the pri. fuel inj.)
they both look the same , black connector and inside are yellow

I realize that the relocation will give you a cooler reading, but is it safe and/or more accurate?
I know mine is getting heat soaked and I was looking for a better solution.

When I get up enough ambition, I'll probably put it back to the stock location.

I hear what your say but the other day it was about 90F here and and my air temp was reading like 56C or 134F in moving traffic with little to no boost. I know from previous experience that my ic cool to the touch under similar conditions. Also if the reading was accurate I would think that it would fluctuate fairly rapidly. Mine changes about 1-2C in about every couple minutes once the car is warmed up.

One from TPS loom (which close to the firewall) is the correct one. Should be the third connector counting from the TPS plug if I remember correctly.

The Air Intake Thermosensor is keyed yellow on the inside. The other connector is orange on the inside. See this link for pictures.
