putt putt

the car, when idle, isnt completely stead

it makes a slightly audible putt sound everyone and awhile when idle at a stop, this normal? sorry just a paranoid driver...

also if im boosting about 11 psi instead of 10 in the first turbo is that ok? or should i get a boost regulator juist for 1psi extra

the engine is new with 2.5k miles

nothing to be concerned about. the 11 psi is not that unusual for the primary, but what is your boost pattern?

I acutally thought this post had somehting to do with mini-golf though.

My boost pattern is like 11/12-8/9-11/12

it only hits twelve rarely

how bad is this to the engine? the engine has 2500 miles (about) and im not looking to have it last more than 30-40k. As long as it lasts and is powerful for 30k miles I'm good because im not taking it to college next year and it will just be a car during the 4-5months im home from school. After the 4 years of college I'm gonna get a new car and probably sell this one.

Input would be appreciated thanks.

Well...i don't think it will hurt it. But i would go with a profec B which is not expensive just to be sure.

12psi is max that you need to go. if it goes above 12 you may want to do something.

mini-golf kicks ***!

an ocasional rise to 12 is okay, your boost pattern sounds good. just a bit higher than usual but still alright to the engine. if you do see it go above 12 you should feel fuel cut, and then get a way to adjust boost.

nothing to be worried about though, just normal parnoia for and RX-7 owner. we all go through it.

you can keep your engine powerful for far beyond 40k. Mine was strong until a bit above 80k, when one hot summer day it just lost compression.

I imagine in another 4 years there will be fewer FDs around, making it even rarer, so don't decide to sell it yet. The FD is a very unique car with a time less design.

It's your streetport. You won't have a completely smooth idle with a streetport.

thanks, but i used to get the same exact sound when the motor was bone stock. I still get that putt when the car is sitting still, i heard the difference in exhaust note when the port was done. But i still get that little putt, that sounds the same way as when i had the motor stock.
