Purchasing Profec B Spec 2, have questions

I'm purchasing a Profec B Spec II. Now i did a search on the Spec II and am aware of the problems that people are having with the Spec II. I've read that to fix the problem some people are having to jump from kpa to psi measurement and vice versa.

My question is this:
My car only has a downpipe on it, and it has been spiking. I'm purchasing the Spec II with the intent that i will eventually be adding other mods such as catback, intake, etc. Does anyone know where there is a detailed step by step installation of the Profec B Spec II? I'm not quite an avid shade tree mechanic, yet i'm confident i can install the Spec II myself with a little bit of guidance. Can anyone recommend a site if one exists that i can use to follow for my Spec II installation?

And lastly (this is a longshot) but can someone offer suggestions on my baseline Spec II settings for a 93 R1 with ONLY a downpipe on it? I realize that the Profec B Spec II settings are going to be dependant on mods, elevation, air density and air pressure, however i'm just wondering if anyone has the same mods as I and can offer some suggestions when tuning the Spec II. I'm looking for a solid 10-10.5psi (acceptable range IMO).

I'm wondering if i can install this device myself and i just would like to know what i am getting into. TIA.

You shouldn't get spikes with just a downpipe. You have another problem causing your spikes. Find it and fix it.

I get spikes with just a DP and K&N Air Filter. It makes perfect sense. The turbos spool up MUCH faster than they used to so they over boost for a second until the wastegate can open and let off some pressure.

Former, i'll let the arrogance slide just this one time, and formally let you know that Rotorsports was the one who did my silicone vac hoses and DP install. I'm 100% positive that there is nothing else is wrong other than the fact that it has been in the 30's and 40's here in Charlotte recently, and that the combination of the DP and colder, denser air is the culprit. Now, getting back to the thread, anyone else know of any sites that have a step by step installation of the profec B Spec II? TIA.

Arrogance, me, never,

I have a spec 1 and researched the install before I did it. The install should be very similar to a spec one install. I went with install version 1 as pictured above and it has worked fine for me. I contemplated installing version 2 but read mixed reviews on the out come. Here is a link to that may help you consider which way you want to install it.

Good luck and I hope it goes well.
