Puddle Of Oil in turbo intake
Hi there,
Just took off the air box and flexible pipe to the 1st turbo (standard FD), and had a look into the plastic 90degree elbow that bolts to the primary turbo. There is a small puddle of oil in there.
Any thoughts where this amount of oil has come from? I guess 1st answer would be turbo pack oil seals gone, but they have been off twice – 1st time to replace the seals, 2nd time to have them double checked. The turbo company say there is nothing wrong with them.
I accept that they may well still leaking, but before I go to the expense of replacing them, any other thoughts on where this oil can be coming from? This has got me puzzled!
(BTW, the car only exhibits a thick plume of smoke when it is started – that clears immediately. No other smoke visible at all, at any other time).
Thanks!
