Profec boost problems. need advice.

installed greddy profec B SPEC 1. i bought it from a forum member NEW, i wanted the retro design with *****. i had a 11-9-11 boost pattern(last tested about a month before profec) and wanted the profec to bring me back to stock 10-8-10 for safer future modding. only mods are ALL of the reliability mods.

profec is installed between the turbos and wastegate(known as version 1) the other end of wastegate is capped as well as the wastegate solenoid. since i have newer turbos i had to drill out the pill. i put the huge *** profec black box behind the ABS unit. i T'd the boost controller vac hose near the UIM next to the firewall and ran the hose for the profec through the passenger side firewall.

both problems are post profec install.

problem 1.

the secondary turbo is always 1 psi less then primary. if the profec is off i get 8-5-7. no matter what i tune the profec to on the primary the secondary is EXACTLY 1 psi less.... 9-5-8 or 10-5-9 even 9.5-5-8.5....you get the idea.

problem 2.

the SLOW transition. instead of the normal 2 psi drop during transition i drop 5 psi. my balance **** is all the way to SHARP. i have no fluctuations with this setting.

any ideas?

the only thing i can think of that i havent tried yet is to uncap the stock wastegate solenoid so it can vent and see what happens. ive read mixed advice about doing this.

thank you.

lil help please.

2 other things i thought of today while i was supposed to be working.....

would "T-ing" the boost source for profec under the dash near the boost controller make a difference...as opposed to the way i have it now... T'd near the UIM...boost guage going through the driver footwell and profec going through the passenger footwell?

also mounting the stepmotor closer to the wastegate(if i can find a spot)there by shorting the length of the vac lines for the profec?

ive been searching and reading but havent found answers.

Try running new vac lines from the turbo nipples and try not to make them too long. I believe that source of pressure is much stronger than the UIM.

All I know to tell you is to check the vaccum lines for leaks or kinks. And maybe shorten the lines. I don't know why the transition is so slow that is controlled more by the precontrol than the wastegate.

Well actually you might want to try adjusting the primary turbo settings in the PFC, if you have one. The PFC or stock ecu is still controlling the precontrol so that may have something to do with it. I have/had some logs somewhere that show how the actuators act during transiton but I'm not sure where they are.
