Profec B and Stock seq. question

Done search on forum but did not find much.Which is better set up to run both wastegate and pre control to boost controller or only wastegate and leave pre control as stock?I noticed on AVCR diagram to run both wastegate and pre control to boost controller.

IMHO I think it's best to tie them together. I don't have practical experience with this setup (yet) but it totally makes sense. The precontrol is simply a wastegate for the first turbo.

It's easy to try it both ways and find which you like the best.

NO! They are NOT meant to be t-ed together. The Profec works great installed on just the wastegate line, with good control of the primary and transition. Tee-ing the pre-control in often results in very bad transition response and is entire unnecessary.

Use the wastegate line ONLY, if you T the two lines you WILL get inconsistant patterns with different conditions and weather. The Greddy instructions also just call for using the Wastegate line(Be sure the dip switches are in the proper positions also). Leave the stock restrictor in the precontrol line and start the gain midway(12:00 o'clock position) then adjust from there. Your primary boost should be 1 psi lower than the 2ndary after completing the install.

How does the Profec B Spec II handle the Precontrol when installed according to the manual? I'm doing the install this weekend and I'm curious.

What boost pattern should I expect at 13psi?

Thanks,
Jeremy

If you just install it to the wastegate only, as the manual says, it isn't going to do anything for/to the precontrol. The precontrol will stil be controlled by the ecu.

And at 13 psi you should get a 13-10maybe11-13.

Question

What's the best way to tie the pre-control to the level I have the Profec Set to? Has anyone done that before?

By that I mean that when I switch settings on the profec, I want it to adjust the pre-control as well. Is that even possible? I guess anything is possible but has it been done before?

Thanks,
Jeremy

The Profec will still control the maximum level of boost the pre-control achieves....many FD owners have run the EBC this way just fine.
