Profec B Question
Hi Everyone:
I'm debating if I should install an older Profec B into my FD or not. The goal is to control boost spikes in accordance to the "3 mod" rule. A buddy of mine said that its not really necessary...but I would like to get a second opinion. So would installing a Profec B help keep the stock boost pattern w/ my current mods?
Here's my current setup:
Downpipe, Stock Cat, RB Duals
Greddy Intakes, Greddy Elbow
Thanks in advance!

It's dark like Poe.
Did you port your wastegate? If not, it won't matter how nice of a boost controller you've got... you'll still spike. If you DID, then the Profec-B is a popular choice. Personally, I like the KS EBS III, but I really think that when your hardware's in order, it's just a matter of personal preference.

i would advise getting the controller. i also have one, and it works perfectly. what i think dark is refering to is creep. as long as you keep the stock cat or go with a hi-flow your fine. porting your wastegate is only needed if you have a midpipe because of the large increase in flow.
i also like the profec b cause of its high and low boost settings. you can set one for 10 psi and another for as high as your tuned for. very handy for track/street use, or impressing your friends

4CN, you're right, I'm talking about creep. However, I'm pretty sure that with a high-flow, or even the stock cat, some creep will occur with the flow mods he's listed.
But again, let me say that the Profec-B is a good choice. Not the only one, but one of the most popular.

I had 14 psi boost spike issues with only downpipe, catback and apexi intake. My profec B spec II solved this problem.
Later, I tried full exhaust. Boost creep came and my boost controller was not useful in order to control this, so I'm running my hi-flow cat again.
