problems with 1993 FD

hello,

got some problems and i hope someone has any idea what the problem is.

- so the car is cold and i start it
- goes to 3000 rpm and after a quick step @ the gas it goes to 1500
car runs terrible like a 6 cylinder where 1 cylinder is broken. engine does not run smooth. autometer boost meter says -20/-22.
- a lot of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust
- after ~1 minute the car settles @ ~800 rpm and starts to run smoother
blue smoke disappears and white smoke (condens) is appearing.

using boost after warming up results in bogging very much from 1500 rpm for a few seconds.
when warm, the boost pattern is 10-8-0 so the 2nd turbo does nothing.

further info: the car uses a lot of oil. and i mean a lot!
all the time, cold or warm, the boost meter says around -22 when idle.

any ideas please?

/edit
no oil beneath the car in the garage so the engine is burning all of it

hmm

about the oil, i had the same problem... either you are leaking a lot of oil, or your oil seals are gone or both... you shouldng get too much blue smoke at startup, if you do, then your motor is burning oil... if your turbo is at 0 psi, then you have a vacum problem, or it can be a check valve, solenoid etc..

thanks for the reply. i'm afraid now...

so if the engine burns a lot of oil @ start, it's _always_ the case of oil seals?
can't it be a problem with the turbo's?
damn, if it's true... the engine has only 2300 km on it.
i read a lot on Internet about breaking in but i don't hope the engine is fried.

yeah, i read most of them before i post this thread.
when i see other FDs start, a little smoke sometimes but not as much as mine...
and because the engine doesn't have much km's on it after the rebuild, i'm worried because of all that smoking.

well ok, maybe i'm paranoia. because of the 0 boost of the 2nd turbo, i'll replace the turbo's for another set.
if the smoke stopped, i'll reply here for the archive.

thanks,
Andreas.

P.S.
And if the problems are gone... i'm going single. all those threads about those vacuum lines: yug.

sounds like a blown turbo to me...perfect primary boost, 0 secondary boost, lots of oil consumption, lots of blue smoke.

same thing happend to me... my solution

i had the same thing happen to me with the rough idleing and blue smoke and 10-8-0. I replaced all the vacuum hoses and switch the wastegate control and turbo precontrol solonoid pack and also replaced the first solonoid closest to the front of the car on the solonoid rack. After that, I had 10-8-10 for like a few days with absolutly no smoke or rough idle.... then it started to idle rough again I noticed a few hoses popped off from the pressure tank and front of intake plenum/manifold. I plugged thoose back in and Im back to were I started... 10-8-0, rough idle, and smoke. When I fix it again I will let you all know what is was.

I think i have the same problem...then again I'm not sure. Pulled up to a light yesterday and it just felt like it was about to die on me...but it didn't. After that though I get a rough idle...like a V8 wiht race cams...whenever i have the clutch in. Doesn't seem to boost smoothly...i dunno, I asked a few RX7 peeps at HIN this weekend in AC, but i got different answers from each person, haha...any ideas?? I searched the threads but they all had different things...holy ****!!! I just bought the car a few months ago...is this how it is owning an RX7, cause I'm kinda worried.
