primary turbo inlet hose question...
Hi all!
I just traced my low primary boost problem to the primary turbo inlet hose having a 1" hole right by the belt. My question is should I go to the dealer and buy a new one or are there any aftermarket alternatives for me to choose from? I'm currently using the stock airbox and if there's an aftermarket intake system that comes with the PTI hose then I'll just go for it. Thanks in advance.

turbo inlet hose by the bbelt. such as coming from teh box. go to the dealer and get a replacement but i do not believe this is your boost problem. there is ne pressureized air on this side of the turbo. when you pull the hose off check for damage to the blades to make sure unwanted debris did not et up in ther and damage them. keep searching for that low boost though, sorry for the bad news, scott
but the funny thing is that I get full boost when the engine bay isn't that cold, boost drops only after a couple hard runs. Anyhow, I still need to replace that hose, so does anyone elsle have any suggestions other than getting the stock hose or the $285 m2 ones?
hey,
i just replaced mine using a factory one from the mazda competition program, it cost 45 dollars. The reason mine was starting to go is because my driver side motor mount had seperated and was allowing the pulley to rub against the intake tube, check your motor mount!!

Not sure if this will help, but it may be a cheaper route than the Mazda part.

i was able to tell the driver side mount on mine was bad by placing a pry bar between the subframe and the motor mount and lifting up. (from under the car) the bad mount would allow the motor to lift quite easily while the good one wouldn't. When I removed it the rubber had totally seperated from the rest of the mount allowing it to jiggle around.
