Ppf......
there were topics awhile back about SOMETHING RATTLING under the CAR.......and thoughts were the PPF....... or the PLATE that covers the tranny.....
if it WAS the PPF(mines rattling) would it rattle with the ENGINE off...PARKED BUT the system on??
i have 2 10W3 JLs.....weak AMP( kicker 180 watts ) and a jl component system NOT amped up....... would the system CAUSE the PPF to rattle also?? cause it DOES....must it be the PLATE now???

If your PPF ever were to rattle, it's time for another one. Lots of things could easily rattle under the car: the splash shield either side of the driveshaft, the heat sheild above the muffler can, the heat sheild around the cat...Just get under there and do some poking around.

Yeah, I concur with DamonB. Best to just get under the car (take a 10mm socket) and start checking on the most obvious stuff. The tranny cover is a really light piece of metal, so if that rattled, you'd definitely hear it. If you have a torque wrench, torque everything to spec just to be sure.

The power plant frame (ppf) is the basically the motor mounts and frame work of the car. I have never heard of that rattling. I had a couple of rattles that I tracked down to the heat sheild on the turbos and the heat shield around the cat piping.

What DamonB and SanJo said... just go under the car and check all your bolts... I had a heat shield come loose while driving which made a horrible sound. Really easy fix-- doesn't take too much hard driving to rattle those bolts loose. PPF makes a distinct clunking/popping sound while you are driving.
