I had someone tell me today 2-5-2002 that there is a valve that you can hook up to your B.O.V. and can buy from home depot or anywhere that costs less than $1 and can add up to about 30-40 horse power i was wondering if anyone knew what he was talking about. what kind of valve and how you would hook it up
You can hook up a manual control boost valve in place of the stock pills for the wastegate and turbo precontrol actuators and raise your boost that way, but you are playing with fire if you do that and don't know what you are doing (i.e. aren't upgrading fuel delivery, exhaust, intake, etc). And you would have to dial up your boost pretty high to get 30-40 HP. and you don't hook it up to your BOV.

You can hook up a needle valve to your wastegate acutator to control your maximum boost. It shouldn't really be used to crank the boost up, it should be used to keep your boost at a reasonable level.
So, the person is pretty much yanking your chain. It isn't going to add hp, unless you crank the boost up, and that isn't a good idea on the stock fuel system and ECU.
Look here for a how to...and to get a better understanding of it...

do your fuel system and ecu before playing with that little gadget....25 buckarros will get you quick hp from higher boost...but 5500 buckaroos will get you that new engine youll need when you blow your apex seals out your exhaust like a fart full of peanuts.
