PowerFC boost Control Kit 415-A008
Hi all
I bought the Kit Boost control Solenoid kit 415-A008 from rhd japan. Now the instructions is in japan, is there a english version available?
I'm looked around for the vacuum / boost wiring diagram but found only diagrams from self made kits and not exactly an example for this kit.
I'm very thankfull for any advice, tipps etc...

I'm sorry it was early in the morning...
I have sequential twins stage 3 and controlling with the apexi PowerFc.
Fresh installed is the EGR Blockoffplate, no vacuum pump.
Front mounted inter cooler
Stock intake and TB

Are you in the united states with a 92-95 car? Where are you located? do you have a wideband o2 sensor and a Datalogit box for tuning? If you're changing out the solenoid you really need a Datalogit to monitor the solenoid duty cycles. Who is going to tune the car? Are you going to tune it, or do you have somebody else?
The Apex'i kit is a Denso 3 bar MAP sensor and one Denso 3 port solenoid for boost control, and then a mostly unnecessary wiring harness. A lot of people in your situation use two MAC 3 port solenoids and a GM 3 bar MAP sensor.
The problem is, you have sequential turbos, and if I remember correctly the BNR stage 3 have a different wastegate actuator than stock. So you have two actuators to control, the precontrol and the wastegate. So you have to decide what you're going to do with the precontrol. Are you going to control it with the stock precontrol solenoid? A manual boost controller? Are you going to run a restricter pill or not? Or are you going to switch to a 3 port solenoid? If so, are you going to get another Denso solenoid or use something else like a MAC solenoid
You need to be able to answer these questions because if you don't think this through, you will blow up your engine. Anything related to boost control is extremely dangerous.

It hooks up the same way as any of the other boost controllers that use the same solenoid like greddy. Set it up as actuator type in place of the stock wastegate solenoid. Mount it somewhere by the turbos and extend the wire to the stock wastgate solenoid connector. Port NO gets a boost source from the compressor housing. COM goes to the stock wastegate actuator. You can leave the stock solenoid in place and plug the ports or remove it altogether. If you bought the full boost kit it will come with a 3 bar map sensor that will plug in place of the stock one. Set the airflow/pim settings to Option 1 in the commander. You can also plug the stock map sensor into the side of the pfc for barometric reference.

Hey thanks for your advices, I'm very busy now and can't answer sooner....
I come from Switzerland. I have a o2 installed and will tune it with the power commander software from apexi.
Actual is the precontrol and boost control solenoid factory wired, with the pills in the lines. Max boost now is 14 PSI.
The idea is, let the precontrol stock with the pill in the hose and just regulate the boost control with the new solenoid.
The factory map sensor is 2 Bar so i will replace it with the 3 bar (will change the settings in the ecu).
So is this possible with this stuff?

^ You can do it that way. IRPerformance explained the basics.
It's like this diagram, "version 1" , except it is port NO and port COM on the solenoid. It is not a stepper motor box, that is for an older/different type of controller. Ignore the comments, as they are talking about stock ECU with an external boost controller. You can tune the precontrol and wastegate separately on the Power FC.

So, the solenoid install is almost done. The boost waste gate outlet should be cap, what means cap? I let the hose on it which connects to the metal line that goes to the top of the engine. from there is another hose connected to the old solenoid. I disconnected both hoses from the solenoid and plugged it. Would this work?
The car is not mine, a good friend is the owner and he always buy new parts. So now he has installed the EGR delete plates. He said there is no problem, just remove the solenoid from the egr and it will work. lol now the car doens't start... Is here a good thread about the egr delete mod?

Plug the Apexi solenoid into the connector for the stock wastegate solenoid. You will need to extend the wires.

Ok cap means like silicone caps, that we use on carbs to plug vacuum fitting.

Car starts and idle fine with stock sensors.
After that I connected the 3 bar denso map sensor at the stock location.
The stock 2 bar sensor is now direct connected at the powerfc.
Now it’s time to set the right PIM values, found a screenshot from a another use, see below.
Is that all? Or I miss something?

Bringing this thread up as I have a question. I am using the Apexi Boost kit. when I plug the stock MAP Sensor into the side of the Power FC, do I need to run a vacuum source to the stock MAP Sensor or leave the nipple on the MAP Sensor open? I tried contacting Apexi but havent gotten a response. Im guessing I dont connecting a vacuum source to the stock MAP Sensor when it gets plugged into the side of the power FC, just want to make sure. Sorry for the dumb question...

I believe so, I think the PFC just uses the stock one as a atmospheric pressure sensor. So, no vacuum hose going to it.

Thanks for the reply Dale. Yeah wouldnt make since to hook up a vacuum source if that sensor is being used to measure pressure of the atmosphere where ever you are located. So my other questions is, would it be ok to leave the stock map in its original location on the firewall? I ask because I had to buy the long adapter harness with the 3 pin connector to plug it into my PFC, the harness is long enough to route it to the map sensor on the firewall to inside the kicker passenger panel. Or would it not be ok, since the engine bay can see increases in pressure from driving?

I would probably put it inside the car since under the hood is going to be hot, dirty air. It would probably foul that sensor over time.
The FC had a separate atmospheric pressure sensor and it was inside the car by the ECU.
Also every time you popped the hood someone would point out that your map sensor wasn't hooked up .

Not sure why the Japanese instructions would show replacing precontrol, the waste gate control does all the heavy lifting on a sequential car.
Unless they are showing the setup for running it with a single turbo and not twins.

I seem to remember for some reason it uses that plug for single turbo boost control. Could be wrong, you can search around on it.
