Power Windows not working
Hey guys,
I just got my car back from paint and now for some reason my power windows are not working.... they were before. I checked and replaced the fuse but still no go.
Any suggestions??

That just happened to my passenger side window....it was working just fine and it just stoped working out of no where. I used to have the same problem with my FC, I remember taking the switch apart and cleaned the conectors with cleaner and it worked. I'm planning on doing the same with the FD.

At some point over the years probably the couple where my car was down my passenger side window just stopped working. It was in the up position do I didn't really give it much thought. With Texas summers though my tint has gone from 20% to practically clear and that's with no cleaning at all. So now it looks like I'll have to fix this thing.
I glanced at the fuse box by the clutch and didn't see anything specific to windows, so I removed the door panel so I could get a better look at what's going on. When using either the passenger side or the driver's side control switches it engages to roll up, but neither of switch make it roll down. Does that mean I can eliminate the passenger side window motor and any potential fuse as a culprit?
I find it hard to believe that both switches down action has failed as I use the drivers side switch w/o plastic cover and just use the plastic squares that push the springs along their channels to activate the power windows (figured it out on a rainy night desperate to get driver side window to roll up).
In most cars I'd just buy a new motor but after seeing life when I pushed up on both switches I'm not so sure now.

When the power windows failed on my car, I found out someone in Japan had put the car's battery in the wrong way around and connected - to + post and + to - post, blowing the main 120A fuse and a few others in the process.
The body CPU (CPU #2 I think it is) under the dash, marked either F100/F101 or something similar, was fried and neither window would operate. Replaced CPU #2 and they worked again. Took me a while to work it out though.

I had a similar problem with my 86 RX7. Took the drivers side switch out and cleaned the contacts and it all worked. From my research the drivers side controls both windows.

I have also had this issue. Alot of the time it turns out to be a dodgy driver side window switch, however that was not the case with mine.
There is a big wad of wires with a plug on it that pass from the car into the door, protected by a rubber boot.
Water can get in there, and several of the wires and contacts had completly corroded away within that plug no longer made contact properly.
Fix was to pull the dodgy wires out of the plug and solder them together..bypassing the plug.
