Power Steering Pulley Removal
I cannot remove the PS pulley if my life depended on it. I tried a combo of things, including 3 different impact guns, different straps to hold the pulley, breaker bar, penetrating oil. I also tried to make my own SST tool, but would not work. I do not even think getting the SST tool will help. Any other ideas to remove/hold it?
break it off
That's how i got mine off......... I tried a **** load of things too.
I "de-cored" it b/c i'm using a manual rack from a FC and now need the pully to run my AC
Should be able to find some used ones fairly cheap or buy a new one for about 80 bucks i think.

Remove the three bolts that support the whole PS pulley. If you look through the holes of yoru pulley, you will see those three bolts.
I used a 1/4" deep socket w/ rachet and broke it free.

so you cant get the bolt off? or is the pully stuck on? in a pinch a screwdriver with a piece of hose over it through one of the holes against the housing will work. i have never had any probs with an impact befroe though...

Try the following:
A: Borrow a bigger impact or a longer wrench for more leverage. Also, a good way to break a stuck nut or bolt loose is to force it in like you were going to tighten it. This will break it loose and make it easier to back it out.
B: Take a dremel tool and grind a slot into the nut until just above the threads, then try to break it loose with a socket or just pop it off with a chisel.
Good luck!

I tried 3 different impacts. Using a longer bar requires a better emans of holdign the pulley which also is a problem. Looks like I may try the dremel seems to be the best idea yet.
