Power FC....

Guys, I still have the destroyer of motors in my car. Namely the PFS Purple motor eater. It's crap. I know it.. I only run 11 lbs of boost. Still killed another motor, this one with 3mm seals.
So.... I'm going to finally make the move which I should have done 16 years ago to the Apexi PFC. I see a bunch of different model numbers when I'm looking for these things. Since this is a stand alone, what is the difference? Is it looking for different engine modules in the different years? Does it even matter? Do you have a used one you want to donate? (Car is dead yet again and I have a 4 year old little girl.. Do you want to make her sad?? )
I'm sure this has been covered, but my search didn't turn up the info. I'm old and cranky and been here too long. Just hold my hand through this one please.

Thanks all.

The early cars are 8 bit ECU, 96+ are 16 bit ECU. The two use different harness connectors at the ECU so you wouldn't be able to plug a later ECU into a 92-95.

The version you want is a FD3S4. This is the "new" version of the 92-95 power fc. FD3S2 is the "old" version 92-95 power fc. Any other number will not plug in.

Power FC is tried and true. However, there are better options out there now.

^This is true. However, you can't beat the price, ease of install, and support of the PowerFC. If you have a car making under 400hp, the PowerFC is more than enough. If you are going for big power or just really want a more capable/modern system, look to a Haltech or something.

I'll be in well under 400HP most likely. I just run 11-12 lbs of boost now. I MAY.... may get some porting done if I have to rebuild this thing again... MMO seems to have settled the motor down a bit though so maybe a stuck seal or some crud in there.
