no power to head unit when car is off, power antenna doesnt work!!!
ohkay i finally got my new cd player working. i just have a couple problems that maybe you guys could help me with. furst is the cd player only revieves power when the ignition is in "on" or in "accesory" so when i shut the car off i lose all my presets and the clock on the cd player resets!!!
and the second problem is the power antenna doesnt work with the new HU...someone help please!
by the way...86 n/a came with radio and tape deck

there should be two power wires for your HU. one that supplies power to store the pre-sets and one to power the unit when the ignition is on. make sure you have both wired up.
as for your power antenna, you have to purchase a switching relay that will convert the current. the power antenna works off a negative current. most aftermarket HU's supply a positive current.

i believe the ignition wire (the one that turns the HU on when you turn the ignition on) is green, and the other one is red. if you want check it w/ the DVM. bnd is right on the relay.

thanks for the help guys, yeah i have both wires connected at the back, one to the battery and one to the accesory but i guess i did it wrong somehow
