possibly the stupidest question ever

It sounds stupid but it came on my dream last night.

So the question is, let's say a guy/girl is so crazy about a rotar that he/she is urging to get one but he/she has little knowledge bout rotar. So he/she bought a series 6 with all its humongous problems. The car would only be slightly modded only with some reliability modifications. Will the car survive as a weekender?I mean...basicaly if there happens to be a problem with the car, just bring it to a workshop and expect them to fix it.
Considering he/she has adequate ammount of money to do that. Ya reckon?

Hes from Australia, they got more than just the Series 6 over there. Not sure if he is trying to compare the older 93-95 RX-7s with some miles to the newer ones they can get over there or what.

Big danger in that assumption. Money won't help if the workshop can't fix it, and most places can't. Make sure you know a workshop nearby that other rotary owners recommend.

Maybe the answers will come to you when you sleep tonight. If not, read the stickies at the top of the third gen section.

why you guys bashing? anyways .. what years are the 6 series? i bought a 93 rx7 here in the states and before owning this car i didnt know how to change the oil (of any car) .. but you read this forum enough .. most people are nice enough to help you out if you run into trouble .. part of the fun of owning a 7 is fixing it .. cause the rotor interested you enough about the car .. i use my car as a daily driver and it has a **** load of miles on the chassis .. also fixing it yourself will save you lots of money

Correct me if I'm wrong.
92-95 = Series 6.
96-98 = Series 7. (Different wing)
99+ = Series 8.
The series 7 was the last RX7s to be sold in Oz. But there are a few imported Series 8s at some imports dealerships (not Mazda) for around $55gz AU.
