is it possible to pay 10 K for a running FD ?

When i sell my FB (in the next week), i'll be looking to buy a FD RX-7. But honnestly, is it possible to find a running FD and good condition for 10 to 11 000$. I don't care about the milleage, but i want to buy one from the states because they are in better shape in general than our canada's one.

That's pretty what i'm looking for :
93-95
Colours: silver, black, red, montego blue.
Milleage : I don't care until compression is good on the engine
I am looking as possible for a stock car ... or just reliability mods.
Paint in okay shape.

car MUST be a 5 speed. Touring or R1 or Base model, i don't care.

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance

Max

I would say that what you want will be very hard to find for the price you want to pay. You could find a running FD for 10K but its very unlikely that it will be running well or be in very good/stock condition.

Unless you get lucky you will find cars within that price range that need alot of TLC.

I think it would be tough to find anything but an AUTO for that price.

it has a rebuilt title, but ask Demetrios what he thinks about the validity of that title

I bought my 93 Fd for $10500 a little over a year ago. 74k miles a little wear on the drivers side leather and a few very small paint chips on the hood. Everything else was good. It lasted a year before i blew an apex seal from overheating.

it was a 5speed touring model

You can get one running for that price. It'll probably come with some goodies like a Salvage title, and questionable - yet "running" - mechanical condition.

Or if you run into someone that doesnt know what the car is worth... maybe u can get lucky that way, but I doubt it.

i think the best for me, is to find a clean titled FD with a blown motor. I heard they sell for around 7 to 11K normally.

I got my manual 93 R1 for $10.8k with 65k mile on chassis and only 500 miles on a rebuild street port motor 2 yrs ago. It still pulls strong and had few common problems(door handle, 5th gear synchro, etc) to date. You just have to keep looking.

i bought mine for $10,900 a little over a year ago. the paint was a little rough and the pill from the wastegate and pre-control lines were missing, which means it had been worked on before. it was totally stock, but wasn't a bad deal. i didn't wanna spend 16k-20k on a pristine one only to totally re-do everything on the car. i was going more for the ground-up type of build. but yes, you can find a decent 5 speed for around $10k

I got my Fd with 30k on the engine and turbos for $10,000. It had some small dings and needed new tires, but all and all a good deal.
