I've been running a cosmo fuel pump on my car for over 5 years. No issues yet. I believe it flows slightly less than a walboro.

R34 GTR pumps are great to about 400HP.

255's are great to about the same.

Any more than 400HP and you need to consider buying a real fuel pump, or running twin 255's.

For the record the Supra pumps will fail also if doing the rewire. Nothing is bulletproof. It really depends where you get your pump from but from the technical standpoint it's about the internals... Some are plastic just like the outside!

A buddy of mine has a shop with a dyno. A large number of cars last year were losing fuel pressure, turns out that they bought fake walbros. You would not believe how many guys bought fake Walbro's from all over the place. Even reputable places were not sure of which ones were fake when they first came out.

The rewire mod is not related to the pump itself but jumping more voltage into the system itself...

put the denso unit in tonight, poor FC had to be the organ donor..

Denso is notibly beefier and heavy duty.. even the "nozzle" on the top where the fuel comes out of is bigger...

it's also a direct swap.. even the terminals that u connect power for.. I'm glad i never lopped them off when i put the stupid walbro in.

only minor issue.. is the way the fuel filter sock points is different.. i had to use the smaller low profile walbro filter inorder to fit it in the baffle area..

fired right up after that..

lets see if any of the previous problems re-cur now..

I've now seen three different RX-7s stranded on the side of the road due to defect walbros (note that there is only one 'o'). Whether replicas or not, I don't know. Regardless, I stay far away from them.
