In my old 240sx I had solid trans, motor, and diff. mounts and IT still wasn't that noticable -- you might notice it at first but it goes away very fast. You might feel it slightly in the pedal but your passenger probably won't.

Springs/struts are the biggest kidney punchers. If you have super stiff ones THEN you might have some comfort-driveablity issues.

Fitment should be the same as stockers.

the sandwich style poly mounts eleminate that problem. so do the noltec mounts. there are group buys and threads about them all over the place. 1/5 to 1/2 the cost of stock mounts too.

I have the Gotham Racing/Poly sandwich mounts, have about 10k miles on them with no vibrations at all. I love them, they seemed to tighten up the shifter a bit

can someone explain what 'sandwich' style is?

i have some delrin engine and tranny mounts on my fc. the engine mounts are like thick hockey pucks to replace the stock mount, the vibration is worse than stock, but its not enough to really notice or bother you, and like someone said above, its nothing compared to stiff springs/shocks.

the homemade "bolt through" design is basically a solid mount with a little extra damping

I have one on the driver's side only (the one that always fails), vibration was noticeably incereased just off idle, shakes the whole car in fact, but above that, these engines are so liquid smooth you don't notice

my car is loud enough I always wear earplugs anyway...all the squeaks, rattles, and blaring midpipe would drive me nuts without them

If you have a bolt going through the middle you're essentially connecting metal - metal... with a bit of suspension when flexing... the OEM mazda uses rubber to "float" the mounts, and that's what your Poly Mounts need to do if they're going to work like OEM, only better...

I have those mounts. You do notice the vibration a little just as you are letting out the clutch but other than that it really isnt that bad. What is noticable is the shifer moves a whole lot less and things feel alot more solid. With these there is no need for a torque brace. They are also alot easier to deal with when pulling or installing your motor.

Dcrosby is right! I purchased my Noltec mounts from Wanklin. I cannot tell you how they are because my engine is with Kevin Landers for a rebuild. Once I get my engine back in I can let you know if you want to PM me.

Got these in the fd now, anyone have clearance issues with the strut tower bar ? It seems the mounts lifted the motor enought that its a clearance issue with the hood- strut tower bar now.

Did I install these wrong ?

I went the DIY route.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...5&pagenumber=3

$70 in poly from mcmaster, $5 in bolts, a couple hours of labor and I love them. With the Aftermarket you can make a "Puck" for the bottom and reduce a ton of noise. I dont hear anything at all. They are just solid feeling.

(I didnt see any TM or copyright symbols on the original drawing so I altered for my own purposes Please forward any complaints to my lawyer,)

A friend of mine got the solid "puck" urethane mounts. We both hate them. Way too much vibration.

Puck may be the wrong word. A poly washer may be better way to say it.
