please need help fast can I use rx7 alternator voltage regulator to fix rx8 alterna?

My friend have rx8 2004 model 6sp and the alternator fail.
I have a spare working fd alternator and my question is if I can use voltage regulator from fd to rx8 alternator
The only difference is that the rx8 alternator have a 2.2μf capacitor in parallel with brush and fd didnt have.
Probably its new design for less arc between brushes.
Help please the car stay in mazda dealer and pay for parking.
Mazda need 700 euro for new alternator the cost is very high
