I had them rebuild my engine, no issues with engine. My old mechanic that had an extensive background in rotaries said that Pineapple knew their stuff, after talking to Rob Golden on the phone.

There's been several bad stories about Pineapple, as with any other builder. A simple search should turn up two or three bad experiences -- although most of them were due to a bad employee Rob had at the time, IIRC.

Not bashing Pineapple, dozens of good stories from them. Just pointing out that no one's perfect.

I met the owner and listened to a tech talk he gave at Sevenstock. Seemed like a nice and knowledgable guy.

Rob Gives Great Customer Service And Stands Behind His Work... If You Look At Most Of The Stories That Are Negative Most Of Them Were User Error Situations. But, He Did Have A Problem With An Employee About Two Years Ago....

Rob did not stand behind the work of his troubled employee. After this tweet built two motors, you think Rob could do the job himself on the third motor to make things right.

If you already have the motor, I'd go ahead and use it but I can not recommend paying him to build you a motor. In that case, go to RP/rx7.com - the only builder that runs their motors on a test stand for 6 hrs. and does a compression test before installation.

Wrong and wrong. I run all engines that I do not personally install on my stand before shipping, and also perform compression tests with mazda digital tester. As well as mechanical oil pressure and coolant system pressure tests.

Rob at Pineapple has built several engines for me, including my dry-sumped 3-rotor and I could not be more pleased with his service.

Steve at Gotham Racing also does a really good job. I am running one of his right now. Steve is coming out to dyno it this weekend.

Every shop has a few bad stories behind, that is part of the business. Fortunately I have not had one with any of the engine builders I have used.

Sorry about that, never knew you were running engines once built. I don't understand why all builders don't do it. If for nothing else, their own protection.

If cost were reasonable, I think there would be a market for complete long blocks broken in, tested and shipped with a dyno sheet. Might be hard to keep costs reasonable considering the cost of an engine dyno though.
