Pictures from the UK Japan Auto Extravaganza....RX-7s galore!!!

Hi all,

I'm finally settled from my move to the UK, and I must say..it hasn't been that bad.

I just got back a few hours ago from the JAE...the biggest Japanese Import meet in the UK, and I must say....you guys are missing out as far as importanting these monsters!!!

Let me just say that RX-7s, Skylines, Supras, EVOs, and WRX's are like water over here. I've never seen so many Skyline GTR's and V-Specs in one place...it's amazing how easy it is to import these babies.

The show was a nice two-day affair. I hooked up with some friends (who showed their Supra, RX-7, and S2000), and camped out overnight. The first day was really rainy, and not much to see or do..but the second day proved to be really nice with a fair bit of sunshine to dry out the mudhole. I had a good time...drank a few beers, checked out the scenery, and even looked at a few cars. I love baby wipes, by the way...best thing next to a shower...

The place was literally packed with everything from RX-7s, Silvias, Skylines, Supras, FTOs, GTOs, Celicas (even a S/C one), Vitz's, 300ZXs and a couple of other cars I couldn't recognize or hadn't ever seen. Oh..and one Eclipse. :chuckles: I drove up in my lowly, plain jane but US SPEC!!! WRX...and realized I need to get some mods on this thing.

All in all..it was pretty damn fabulous for my first meet in the UK, and I must say..the scene is rather hopping over here...there's more POWER hitters here..than I'm used to.

Check out the pics!!! And remember to double-click for the high resolution ones..they're much better:

It's too bad my 7 is still on a boat on the way over here...

Actually..I kinda like it..heh.

You can get as close as you want to the curbs without hitting the parked cars...it's feels alot easier to drive on the left hand this way.

It also allows you to ride the road as close as you can to the far left..because you've got your mirrors brushing with the cars oncoming on the right.

The roads here are TINY.

nice stuff, just saw the typeR mini, hehe cool swap.

but damnit, stuff like this just pokes my burning coals that the US is "out of the loop" for importing nice cars. I mean come the **** on, these great cars are like water in japan and here we gotta fork over 90k for a GTR with hardly any tech support and easy to get parts... don't even think about a series 8 FD.

@#$^

hehe, sorry, nice pics.

I'm with you..

I'd LOVE to purchase one of these 93-95 skylines GTRs over here for only 20,000 to 25,000 BUCKS...that's incredible compared to what you have to pay for one over here.

This is extremely awesome!!!
21,090.83 USD for a 1998 Skyline GTR!!!

1998 (July) Skyline GT-Turbo R34, Silver.
84,339 km (52,417 miles) from new. 5 Speed manual, Hicas 4WS, Traction Control, ABS, Dual SRS, rear wiper, fitted mats, UV Cut Glass, GTR Style rear wing, full optional body kit.

Improvements: 17" white Enkei Racing lightweight alloys fitted with 225/45 ZR 17 (front) and 245/40 ZR 17 (rear) sports tyres. Performance suspension kit with adjustability. Not a lot harder than standard, yet still allows improved handling, Standard Xenon Headlamps, headlamp eyebrows, aftermarket front driving lights, Räzo alloy pedal kit, High Power "Carrozzeria (Pioneer Brand in Japan) Hifi with MD/CD changer. Also included is a TV / Sat Nav system, although this won't work in the UK without costly conversion - the screen can be used for DVD players, etc. Hifi equipment for this car is supplied free of charge. There is a Blitz induction kit and a stainless steel performance exhaust - rear section fitted. It sounds slightly louder and more sporty than standard, but is of street legal spec in Japan. This car should be making around 300 bhp in current spec, although easily tuned to nearer 370 bhp in the UK safely with an ECU remap.

This has been a non smoker's car since new, so interior is in excellent condition. Thera are two aftermarket red Bride semi bucket seats fitted (Reclinable). Original seats are included with the car.

The interior has no faults to report, it's in excellent unmarked condition, aside from some sticky marks left from previously fitted gizmos. These marks will easily be removed when the car is cleaned in UK.
This car has been well looked after - also jack & tool kit / Spare are unused.
The auction grade is 4. Note that this is a one owner car. Each door has been protected with a black strip to stop the edges getting chipped. There is no bodywork damage to report aside from a very small scratch to the front bumper N/S corner. There are minor scratches to a couple of the wheels - although only very small. Note that tyres all have plenty of wear remaining.

Although it's done 52,000 miles, condition is beautiful. You need to see full pictures to fully understand!

Skyline GTR R34 looks, superb performance (300 + bhp) & handling to match (Hicas 4WS, LSD, etc) with much lower price, insurance and running costs. These are excellent performance cars, complete with an engine closely based on the legendary GTR's RB26 - this one's fitted with a 2.5 litre RB25 instead. Single turbo, so much less lag than a twin turbo GTR, yet capable of producing 370 bhp easily with only basic tuning (Exhaust & induction kit already fitted).

This is the first R34 GT-T we have been able to supply complete with a decent set of alloys, original option bodykit and a host of other extras available at a low price. Usually such examples are very high priced and virtually untouchable at Japanese Auctions.

OTR price just £12,985. This includes SVA test and full conversions, valetting, cost of road tax and new MOT. A deposit of £1,000 secures this car for shipment to UK.
Contact us to receive full pictures & details of this car.

This one too...1996 RX-7 from www.neweraimports.com , which is a UK-Importer for cars:

1996 (March) RX-7 13B REW 1310cc (Twin Turbo).
Type RS model. 5 Speed Manual. 72,492 km (45,054 miles) from new.
Usual 4th revision RX-7 RS Spec includes: Air Conditioning, 16 BIT ECU, Large RS Spec front brakes with 4 Piston front callipers, ABS, Bilstein shock absorbers with fully independent suspension - double alloy wishbones, Power Steering, Power Windows, Remote Controlled Door Mirrors, Central Locking. This car has been a non-smoker's car since new and includes an elbow-rest box instead of centrally mounted ashtray. Unmarked Alcantara suede seats, rear seats & seatbelts, fitted mats, rear wiper...all the standard RS Spec, of course.

Improvements: ARC standard mount intercooler, HKS RS Alloy induction kit, Apexi PFC ECU combined with an Apexi rear silencer combine to make an excellent initial setup for UK use. A Blitz (Latest model) Alloy Dump valve is fitted. These upgrades safely take the car to around 330bhp. There are other additional refinements:
An engine stabaliser (To help control drivetrain flex), An earthing kit (To help maximise spark plug efficiency). Inside, are 3 centrally mounted gauges showing oil temp, oil pressure and water temp, with a GReddy boost gauge mounted to the left of the sppedo & instruments. A Blitz "Power Meter" is also fitted, together with a GReddy turbo timer (Timer won't work in the UK with a Cat 1 alarm, however). Handbrake has a quick release mechanism. Steering wheel is a MOMO suede item. Hifi is Kenwood CD/Cassette, complete with remote control. There's also one last neat trick: An exhaust restrictor valve....Want an RX-7 where you can adjust the noise levels of exhaust? Quiet - Loud from the adjustment of valve by cable, makes this possible. Especially useful for track days, sneaking up on people, etc. An airhorn is also fitted.

17" Original Lightweight alloys, tyres are all near new. These alloys are only fitted to RS models, to house the larger than usual front brakes. Centre caps were missing at time of taking the pictures, but have now been replaced. Suspension has also been improved with TEIN fully adjustable suspension, including ride height, Bump & rebound. The setup this car enjoys will improve roadholding & handling without major effects to ride comfort - Making this a very well balanced and progressive handling car.
We have test driven this car and can report it goes very hard indeed, just like a good one is meant to. 2nd turbo from 4,500 RPM is around 350 bhp's worth of (A whole lot of) fun & drivability.

The cost of, body improvements, ECU, intercooler, suspension, exhaust, gauges, wing, etc, etc, etc is around 6,500 GBP total equivalent, means the previous owner didn't skimp on making this RX-7 something truly special. He most certainly loved his car. It sounds sweet as can be, engine is sweet and in excellent health, has a beautifully crisp exhaust note, good oil pressure, good manners, just a very sweet example throughout.

A Mazdaspeed 1999 look front nose (Original, not a cheap copy!) complete with 1999 look is fitted together with original option (ABS Plastic) side skirts and rear mudflares. Mirrors are by Ganador, Also fitted is a colour coded alloy GT rear wing (Adjustable). A tiny but sleek set of PIAA driving lights complement the front end.

White is one of the most attractive colours for RX-7's, as this colour reflects light well to show off the beautiful curves of this car - Many Japanese RX-7 show cars are white for this reason (Knight Sports, for example). Also a good colour to add a carbon fibre bonnet to!
Pictures simply can't do this car justice....It's in immaculate condition, with no bodywork faults to report (Auction grade 4). Mods are some of the best available in Japan for use in UK. As we walked up to it, other people were oogling it and we overheard a keen buyer whisper to his agent, :"I WANT this car".....ha, so did we!!

A rare chance to have a highly sought after but usually unavailable specification of RX-7.
Including cost of road tax and new MOT. OTR price: £13,485

Be quick - it'll probably be sold promptly.

A deposit of £1,000 secures this car for shipment to UK. Please contact us for full details & pictures.

We have our own well modified RX-7 and are very enthusiastic about these, as we truly understand them. Newera Imports are the only importer consistently recommended by UK clubs for supplying only the best 7's.

Price OTR: £13,485

The American dollar is really weak compared to the british pound..so the final car comes up to about 21,907...but still..look at all your getting on the car with mileage that's only 45,000 miles on it.

Shiat...

Check out some of the other prices:

http://www.neweraimports.com/stock.htm#1

This is only one importer mind you..you can shop around..or you can give them a specific price to look for..or type of car with features.

Yep, I was around on the Sunday, but only until about 3pm when we headed back up to Scotland. I wasn't on the Mazda display, SS-R is the local car club I was down with. My FD was parked just behind the Skyline that spent the weeking popping and banging. I was regularly found hiding from the noise talking to Danny, Max, Nigel & OJ on the rotary displays.

Nice car Andy I'll be down at TOTB, again I'll be down with SS-R, but I've got Max's mobile no so I'll pop over and spend some time with the FDUK lot at some point hopefully get to speak to you then.
