Pic's of PFSupercars Diff Girdle...

Hey guys. I got some pics of the gurdle. Alot of people wanted to see it. Ray is now producing them. Keep in mind that mine is the same gurdle that was on Ray's drag car as well as Peter's so it doesn't look "new", lol....Ray can have them coated now too. So far this gurdle has had NO failures with countless launches from myself, Ray and Peter.

Very well engineered piece. I remember seeing Peter, Adam and Ray all use this same part in the past with much success.

Hey ernie, the diff is stock? Were the axles stock? Did they launch on radials? Just a few questions that i am sure everyone would like to see. I would even buy one then

Peter and Ray used to use the stock diff. I use the Kazz. Launching on radials isn't advisable no matter what bracing/girdle you have. Ray and Peter used stock axles. I have 300m chrome molly axles.

Justin,
You'd have to call and ask Ray. I don't know.

Ernie, it looks like it's very close to your exhaust piping. I'd be interested in running one of these, but wonder if it'll work with my 4 inch diameter piping.

Also, I know when I ran the kgparts T brace (can't now with my exhaust) the rear of the car felt much more solid and I could really tell the difference in decreased drivetrain movement. I'm assuming that's more pronounced with this big mother ?

Interesting concept. I can see how it mounts (and cradles) the diff case, and would obviously provide for an increase in the strength of the case. Does it also mount to the frame of the car?

Hey Rich I taked to Ray about the brace. I asked about exhaust
fitment and he said there would have to be a slight fitment issue
with a 4" exhaust. I asked because I have the greddy exhaust
from rx7.com. Ernie also runs this exhaust. Does not look like ernie
had to cut and weld anything. so nothing like a little hammer could fix.
Maybe we can get a group buy. I will call ray on Monday again.

This looks like it simply attaches to the differential case itself around the back bolts and then the 2 studs up front by the torque arm/PPF.

Does it attach to the frame/body in any other places?

It's definitely a nice piece, but it's not going to change the way the car feels. It simply reinforces the casing.

Mark, my understanding from corresponding with Greg is that the cradle does not mount directly to the chassis hence it is not going to resist the diff nose's attempt to climb beyond slightly reinforcing the PPF where it bolts to the diff.

Ernie, Is Ray offering a full top & bottom brace or just the bottom one shown in your pics? My understanding is that Peter used the full enclosure, but it seems that the bottom brace works well enough.

It prevents the thin cast iron diff casing from failing by reinforcing it longitudinally.

You must be fairly new. The case will flex and crack when drag racing.

There IS a full top and bottom part to the brace. I don't have both. Didn't see a need as of yet, but Ray will make it.

does this help prevent/reduce wheel hop?

It only reinforces the diff casing. This won't do much for wheel hop unless you think casing flex is a major contributing factor, which it isn't.
