My comment was sarcastic, surprised you didn't notice that.

I never insulted his car. I said I liked it, even the side skirts, I wasn't hot on the rear lenses, but I did not say anything other than I didn't like them that much.

My point is you can't bitch about someone "insulting" your ride if your avatar insults a whole class of rides. I've auto-xed a V8 FD and I can tell you it'll hand most FDs their ***. "Bitch slap V8 FD" could offend someone, as a matter of fact it could offend everyone at torque central.

Along the same lines I guess I could say "Bitch slap clear corners" but not offend anyone since I won't mention any specific car. Or I could just say all 19 yr olds are punks but not mention any specific names. That wouldn't offend you right, since you should understand I'm being sarcastic right?

Your being hypocritical.

Man, you have got to be F*CKING SHITTING ME! I will admit that I would never convert a 7 to v8, but I have some local friends who have. I have driven a few, and respect their power...each engine has it's weaknesses and strengths. In the longrun, the v8 makes better power more reliably at a lower cost. I admit all this no problem. BUt I still will never own one myself.

I have the avatar in place because the first time I saw it I laughed my *** off for 2 minutes solid. I think it is FUNNY, so I kept it. It is cooler than most. Not necessarily an insult, all in good fun. I am close friends with at least 2 members of TC, and we poke and prod at each other, ALL IN GOOD FUN.

Dude, I SO wish I had never posted this up here. This is nothing but pure bullshit. I didn't do it to please anyone else, or even to glean congratulations for my efforts, but I sure as hell didn't expect the shitty welcome I have recieved. Even my ******* paint man who is a die hard ford/mustang/lightning man respects the rx-7s I have had him do work on. He thinks the parts I put on the car were the easiest he had ever fit on any car, were well made, and went well with each other and the car. HE couldnt stop talking about how bad *** the car was before I even got to see it done. I come to an rx-7 board to show my car's progress and get nothing but rude insults from half of you people...what does that say about the FD community? Exactly what everyone else says...they're f*cking ******.

But I guess it's pretty hard to please all you motherf*ckers with your discriminating tastes, and all. IF it isn't the choice of wheels (too heavy, too big, not wide enough, whatever) then it's the unpainted cf parts (isnt CF stronger and lightweight, thus the advantage of using it on a car? and aren't some parts only sold in CF, meaning to get that particular design you have to buy it in CF?), the wrong wing, the wrong lights (has anybody looked around at new cars rolling off the showroom floor, with diamond lights installed stock?), or even the ******* avatar in my profile posted in good fun. You people are so wrapped up in setting these cars up for race and high hp, dumping 20-30 grand into them. They'd rather see one in the junkyard, than god forbid someone just fix it up clean and lightly modded for the street. Makes a helluva lot of sense to me.

That's well and fine. As long as you don't sit there and say they're shitty, or I should remove them, or they're nothing but knockoffs, or whatever, then that is fine that you don't like them. I have absolutely no problem with that.

What is it that you people expect to see on these cars? In reality, should everybody be riding around on a set of 17x9 and 17x11 volks or something? Not everybody cares about race setup, you know. Not everbody makes their part selections with the only criteria being part strength and weight. To some people, it's actually okay to buy something that isn't a high dollar race part of the highest construction for their car, so long as it looks good to them. Should it really be a prerequisite to owning a 10 year old rx-7 to have deep pockets?

Call me rice, but i like the look of a CF hood. I think it would look better if you got the stealth headlights though! Definately a nice looking ride.

Nice thread to, lots of entertainment

Speaking of Volks... I got a ration of **** for buying 19s, for buying "ugly" TE37s, and for going "cheap" by only spending ~$3,300 on my wheels. The only people who didn't cry were the weight critics.

Apparently acceptance is based on how much money others think you should have spent on your wheels in relation to the rest of your car. On my car, only gold-plated HREs would have satisfied the bean counters, but I would have pissed off the weight watchers.

You can't win, so don't waste your time worrying about what others think. If you're satisfied with them, then that's all that really matters.

If I had it my way... The owner of the thread would have the ability to delete the ******** posts.

That is HOT!!! I was almost going to go that route. How is your vision with the knight sport mirrors? I can't seem to get very good vision from them.
