having a strange idle problem
My idle has been acting up ever since i bought the car. here are the symptoms:
Upon startup, car jumps to 2500rpm even if i start it in gear to disable AWS.
After warmed up, idle is around 1300-1500 - drive around, idle still stays around 1300-1500 - if i blip the throttle slightly during idle, i can get it down to 1000-1200 sometimes - after long highway runs it will sometimes go to 1000, but it's rare. - sometimes when i'm decel with the clutch in, the rpms will drop to about 2000 and hang there for a second before coming down to 1500.
i just finished a complete vaccum hose job, and my boost pattern is fine, car runs great. just this damn idle problem. at first i thought my tach was off, but i don't have a pfc to tell. It is possible that the tach is off by about 300rpm (by talking with my friend who has another FD driving in the same gear at the same speed) but even then, the idle would still be a bit too high
anyone have this before? would it be the idle screw? the TPS? It's possible the previous owner messed something up that i dont know about.
