No kidding about the clear lights and ADR wheels. Cheap wheels like that belong on an Accord, like the silver one you painted it after. Can ADR come up w/ any original ideas? NO! Otherwise, nice looking.
You're a f*cking ********, you know that? I don't even know you, but I feel confident in making that judgement after that IDIOTIC collection of ideas you just posted. The wheels are sold as ADR but are actually made by manaray IIRC. They are pretty impressive in person, I have gotten nothing but compliments. What exactly is your problem with them? What, because I didnt spend 3, 4 grand on them?

And what, because the color I painted my car with came from a honda, makes my car as a whole somehow inferior? Had I not told you what the code was from, I could have called it a color off a porsche and you'd have been like, "hey, nice color". What a load of bullshit.

are you gonna start on the engine next or just leave it stock?
No, it'll be sporting a full exhaust, PFC, fuel mods, IC, and probably a single turbo.

Course, it still won't suit some of the self-righteous ***** FD owners on this forum, because I plan to piece together my kit and make use of parts I find good deals on, rather than spending hundreds or thousands more for parts/kits with a more respected brand name.

Even supra owners aren't as bad as some of you guys. You wonder why the automotive community as a whole refers to FD owners as arrogant ********, this is why.

I could actually give a rat's *** if any of the members of this forum or others like my car. I like it, which is why I built it this way. I know that I personally enjoy seeing pictures of other people's styles, and setups, which is why I posted mine for others to see. I figured that being an rx-7 community and all, this would be the perfect place to come and share my project. The place where it would recieve the best reception, being that we all love these cars.

Apparently I am wrong in that assumption, and unless you have $4000 in 3 piece wheels, a $5000 widebody kit, and a $4000 show paintjob with a paint color from an exotic car, you won't be accepted into the ******** FD owners club. We all enjoy these cars, but some of you act like you drive a f*cking mclaren or something. Our cars are nothing really special these days, just nice 10 year old japanese sportscars. No reason for some of you guys to act like you do.

Maybe a mod will delete this thread, you guys can go back to troubleshooting boost control issues, and I can go back to the 2gen owners section, where we CONGRATULATE each other on our accomplishments, not tell them how shitty their selection of parts was.

Do your thing Kevin...lots of FD owners out there that can't do their own work on their own car but talk **** about other's work and car. Looks good outside...now just need to add about 200 more ponies under the hood and you'll have a beauty AND a beast

They do. Search for Carbon Creations. They do carbon fiber anything. Not that I really see the point of it, but it is available.

I gotta back Kevin on this. This forum is great, but people are so opinionated. I think his car looks amazing. I wouldn't personally put a CF hood on, or more than 6 spoke wheels, or that front bumper, but just because I wouldn't choose it for my car doesn't mean that it doesn't look great. I mean I would choose an E46 M3 over a G35 Coupe, but that doesn't mean the G35 doesn't look awesome. Just remember, that just because you wouldn't do it to your car, doesn't mean it's bad. I'm sure lots of people dog the way I do my car, but I could give a ****, and if you don't have anything nice to say, then shut it. I have $250/each rims on my car, sure they aren't race rims and super light, but I get compliments EVERYWHERE I go. Point is, to each his own, and nobody can say that his car doesn't look sweet, so stop nitpicking and give the guy props. He spent a lot of money and it looks great, then you all tear it apart, because it's not YOUR style. Well, it's not YOUR car, so stop trying to make the guy feel bad.

Kevin, nice job, that car looks SWEET!!

I guess because my Racingbeat wheels were cheap I should put them on an Accord too?

Can ADR come up with any original ideas? Hmm.. Let's see. Well, as far as wheels go, I guess not. Unless of course they make them square or maybe triangle.. Do you feel the same way about Chuck at Rotary Extreme then? Since he offers replicas? (replicas aren't original of course..)

I'm in Nashville, I've heard a few things about Rotary Resurrection from Jeff at Turbo Auto and a few others. However, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Nice car, it looks real clean. I like the sideskirts especially. I don't mind the ADR wheels, hell...they're wheels! What about a pic of under the hood?

We might have to have a get-together in Nashville pretty soon. I just got my car up and running 2 days ago, maybe head to Garfinkle's or something.

Good job, paint looks amazing as well

Jack

I can't believe someone had the gaul to say the color sucks because it's an Accord color. Get a life, the car looks great.

Cool

Pros on your car
-silver is always a sporty color
-your wheel style is a popular style (i have adr sokudos - don't like mine because they're not wide enough in the back) - it will look really cool once you drop your ride
-love the side skirts - that's actually on my list for my 7
-front lip looks aggressive

Cons on your car
-clear corner lamps have to go - Ghetto is the word - it's the first thing that stands out on the car other than the whole car itself.
-paint your hood to match

overall i'm jealous! have fun picking up chicks brada.

see ya,

car 53

Don't get me wrong lots of nice guys but some shouldn't be focused on the money aspect as much.

I'm doing the same thing (got mine for 7g though).

I think it's great to see some of these cars that just about had it come back to life.

about the smoke lights- Not sure if they are legal. Cars like that attract alot of attention. Some of it is bad.

Not sure if the clears are legal either. Actually it isn't a light that is in the bumper, it is just a reflector w/backup light. I suggested to mask the backup light off too.

Sorry I made you so upset, criticism is something you will face all of your life, not trying to put you down, or your car, but get over it. Money is not the issue, build quality, ORIGINALITY of wheel design, weight, to name a few. If you would study Hooked on Phonics more diligently, perhaps you would have noticed that I said the WHEELS belong on the Accord, I did not mention or state that anything was inherently wrong w/ the paint. I actually like the paint, I don't care if the color code is off some Ford Pinto. Thanks for the comments!!

Money was not the issue, if you would read my post more carefully next time before replying or jumping to some conclusion, it would be greatly appreciated.

ADR wheels should perhaps venture into that, trying to fabricate some prototype square wheel, hell while there at it maybe an octagonal shaped wheel.

I was referring to the originality of the wheel design, the spoke pattern, but I'm confident that someone of your stature on the forum could have realized that.

I don't personally know Chuck, but I have seen his work. I have not seen it in person, so I can't really testify to the fact that it is quality or not. But to answer your question, YES, replicas for the most part are cheap and devalue someone else's creativity. I suppose imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Atleast Kevin admitted the parts were knock-offs. Most of the posers around here claim to own originals when infact they aren't.
