Pics on 93 RX7 engine

Can you guys help me with your opnion just by looking at this engine? Im looking to buy this car and the owner sent me some pictures. Its got the single turbo upgrade. Is it normal for the turbos to rust up like that? Does all the engine work seem professionally done? Something tells me that this engine was poorly modified, no?

Lets see here... The turbo will look like that after time, take it off and send it to jet-hot, get it coated, it will look sweet.

The AST is kidna just chillen there, you might want to replace that with an aluminum one and actually mount it better.

The intake pipe could stand to be redone, just get a nice chrome pipe to put there.

It is kinda hard to judge a car just by pictures.

Thanks 7-sins for your response. Where exactly is jet-hot? how much do they charge to get it coated?

I called Jet Hot and they gave me a pretty good price. $110 to make the turbo look like new again. They said they would sand blast it and then coat it with high temperature coating.

the jet hot plant is here in mississippi. anyway, that turbo will be less than ~$60 to ship. the stock twins weigh about 30 pounds, and they cost me 65 to ship to miami.....just guessing.

BTW, that engine bay looks poorly maintained, and might be a warning to what is in store with the purchase of the car......
