Pic request: Stock fuel filter and brackets
Hey guys -
Putting a project car back together, and I'm trying to re-install the stock fuel filter. It looks like there's supposed to be a bracket bolted to the frame that the fuel filter then bolts to. The car has no diff right now, so it's easy to get to, and I can't really see what I need to on my car without dropping the diff out .
Anyone have a pic in their archives or a car without a diff they can take a picture of? Parts diagrams and shop manual haven't been a help here.
Thanks!
Dale

Thanks guys! I still can't see what I think is there - I think there's a 90 degree bracket that bolts to the frame of the car, then the fuel pump (with the bracket that goes around it) bolts to it.
I think the bracket has just holes in it - the holes in the frame are threaded, as are the ones on the bracket. Also, I seem to remember it has a rubber isolator of some kind, not sure of that.
Specter - it is a BIG job to drop the diff. People make the fuel filter change to be a problem, but really if you have the right tools it takes about 30-45 minutes. An assortment of pliers to remove the clamps and hose pliers to pull the hoses off the fuel filter are the real secret. To remove the diff, you have to drop the main cat and cat-back, remove the powerplant frame, unbolt the driveshaft and axles, on and on. HUGE job.
If anyone knows more about this mystery bracket or has pics, please let me know!
Thanks
Dale

Does this help? (Note that the 1994 parts catalog does NOT show the 90° bracket, sorry!) Clearly this installation is not stock... I stole pics from an earlier thread!
