Question Pettit SMIC duct

looking to see if anyone has been able to use the Pettit SMIC duct with the GReddy SMIC and still be able to keep the stock front plastic cover in place?

I know this piece is no longer a functional item with this setup, i just want to be able to put it back for stock looking purposes.

If this set up will not work what duct is out there that is best suited for the GReddy SMIC and can still possibly alow me to bolt that front cover on?

I just ordered the pettit duct and honestly it's not well-constructed, poorly bonded seams and unfinished fiberglass on the inside tract. I truly expect more from a company with a name as well known as theirs.

But to answer your question about the top cover being used with the Greddy SMIC. I purchased a second cover to experiment with because I wanted a clean finished look. I cut it on the saw to get it to fit around the SMIC but if you're trying to use the hole to feed air to your airbox it wont fit. If your not using it to feed your airbox then just cut away at the bottom of the cover until it looks good.

As far as it fitting with the Pettit duct I guess it would all depend on how much you modify the cover

Shawn,

I when I first bought a Greddy SMIC, it came with the pettit duct. I tried to install it and fitment was bad.

I then got rid of it and ran across another Greddy SMIC for cheap and decided to get a duct made out of using stock duct. Luckily another guy name Shawn in TN was making a set and made one out of FG. I have it on my MB and works pretty well.

Is it just me or is it kinda messed up to charge $1450 for an intercooler core and some pipes, and no duct?
