ok heres a retarded Q, what is the proper way to remove the saftey cap off the ast,

is it lift up saftey lever, then twist and remove

of lift up saftey lever wait till pressures released then put it back down then twist and remove....


because i bought a 16psi replacement, and the lever for the cap does not stay up like the on pettit supplied, I'd lift the lever and it will snap back down when i let go

so just wondering..

 

I would take the cap off the filler neck to release any pressure that might be in the system before removing the ast cap. And protect your eyes.

 

Put a rag over either cap if you are removing it while hot!

lift lever, snap lever back down then remove?

 

lift lever releasing pressure(use a rag and read the warning on the cap), push down and twist left. Leave lever up when unscrewing.
